  • An Gearasdan was fully renovated to the highest standards in 2007 and the following year won the prestigious RIAS award for which the owners are justly proud. The house can comfortably sleep 8/10 - it is large enough to accommodate 2 families or a large group of friends. It is fitted with contemporary furnishings and has a fresh decor. Downstairs accommodation consists of a large cloakroom, utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, fridge freezer, a w.c and shower room. Leading off the hallway are 4 double bedrooms (two have twin beds, one has king and one has superking) (one en suite), a family shower-room, and separate TV lounge including a small double sofa bed. Upstairs is bright and open planned with a fully equipped kitchen with large fridge, ovens and microwave. There is a well stocked library of interesting books and family games, and a dining table to seat 10. Three large sofas surround a modern Jotul log burning stove. The house offers every comfort necessary to make your holiday complete.

Amazing location, lovely house with some lovely touches like the maps and book. The house could have been cleaner (downstairs dust balls and sliding doors dirty) and would be improved with a fresh coat of paint.Overall a very relaxing enjoyable stay:

Stunning location and a great house for a group of family and friends

Great beach walks and trips over to Skye on the Ferry. A lovely shop and pub in the village - and even a nearby brewery, which we visited a few times too. Plenty of Cycling/ paddle boarding done - and loads of wildlife to see. We will definitely go back.

We found An Gearasdan to be a wonderfully comfortable, warm and modern house. In the most stunning location with views from the house both restful and inspiring. Lovely walks locally and fabulous scenic drives when venturing further afield.

Friends accommodation for wedding

We booked this house for our friends and then our family to stay in for our wedding in Glenelg. Everyone was really happy with the accommodation and facilities. The views are incredible and the things provided are very thoughtful and give you everything you need for a stay in the area.

We have stayed in An Gearasdan on a number of occasions and have been visiting Glenelg for over 24 years. The property is lovely, very well set out and perfect for groups and a couple of dogs. The view down the sound is spectacular and the locals are lovely. We cannot fault the house or location and hope to return for many more years.

A very welcome break

Our fourth stay here and we just love it. The scenery and tranquility is fantastic. The house itself offers everything we could need and the local pub is so close. We did some paddle boarding this year which was new to some of us. Apart from that we did some walking, geo-cashing -again, new for some of us - and general lazing about. Another great week and next year to look forward to !

My family and I spent 5 nights at this beautiful house.The location is lovely with amazing views across to Isle of Skye.From booking to check in the experience was good as the host responded to messages quickly through the website. Facilities within the property are good with lots of extras for families with small children The village itself has a small shop and a local pub. I would highly recommend having dinner at the pub, food is really good.Ferry trip over to Skye was also a really interesting experience.

Another Wonderful Stay

We love this property. It is a great space for sharing with family and friends. Fabulous views over to Skye and close to the pub. What more can you want ? Great facilities. Laundry room and a huge boot room at the entrance so plenty of room for jackets and walking boots etc. Four good size bedrooms and a downstairs lounge. Upstairs is such a wonderful space and it really makes the property a great place to be. Good communication with the owner which always helps.

Amazing Location

The property is in a beautiful location overlooking the Isle of Skye. Check in process was easy and communication with the host was very good. Our queries were answered quickly and they were able to accommodate our stay to fit in with our tour of Scotland. There were a couple of issues whilst we were there but we communicated with the host over these and Kay was quick to come back to us. We wanted the first leg of our holiday to be somewhere remote and this is most definitely it. The village shop and the Glenelg Inn are very useful village amenities as the closest Coop is a 40 minute drive. Amazingly peaceful and relaxing!

The property is perfectly situated in the wonderful village of Glenelg. Well fitted out with all your needs covered . My only suggestion would be a 4 slot toaster, not 2 , considering the property sleeps 8! Wonderful upside down house, amazing views and a wonderful living space icorporating, kitchen, dining and lounge with lovely log burner. Ample parking and amazing boot room keeping all coats, boits, rucksacks etc out of the way. Thank you

A beautiful house in a fabulous location. Also the local pub is brilliant, great ales and friendly locals. It was a perfect spot to relax and explore some of Scotland. The Isle of Skye ferry is on 5 minutes away, a beautiful isle to explore, with some delicious distilleries.Thank you
