Linens and bedding were very clean, but carpet, wallpaper, fixtures very outdated. Leather covers on the seats in the shared spaces were all cracked and ripped. Furniture in bad condition. Possibly new management that is trying to update? No complaints on the bedding and towels and bathroom, all clean.

I just had surgery on my ankle a few min ago and wasn’t informed about this hotel the Confort inn on canal rd elevators not working it econvince me to the fullest extent I would like to be confinsated for my stay

I’m from Alabama, my daughter, her husband and my 4 grandchildren live in Portland MI. I try to visit at least two times a year. Sometimes I drive, sometimes I fly. I wanted to take my pug with me so I drove this time. It’s a 12 hour drive. I got to the hotel and spoke with the lady at the front desk. Told her I have a reservation and i have my pug with me. She did not see where I had mentioned bringing a dog and said there were no rooms available for pets. I told her I booked online and put in the special notes section, I was bringing a small dog with me and would need a pet friendly room. It was somehow overlooked. I was about to panic due to the fact I had just driven 12 hours and suffer from narcolepsy and was extremely exhausted. I needed to lie down asap. The lady (I do not remember her name) got on the phone with her manager and within 5 minutes, I was heading to my room!! I don’t think it was considered a pet friendly room but it was much appreciated. The room was perfect. I told the lady, I would be visiting with my family the majority of the day and would just be there to shower and sleep at night. I told her my pug was older and very mild mannered and she would be with me the whole time. My stay with the Comfort Inn was perfect!!

Old run down motel
The staff was friendly, the breakfast subpar and the hotel was outdated. The bathroom door wouldn’t shut all of the way because it was so swollen from water damage at the bottom. Anything metal in the room has aged rust stains on it. The dresser was old and falling apart. The bed was uncomfortable. I think the only new thing in the room was the TV that wasn’t even plugged in and ready for use. I will NOT stay here again!

The rooms are very outdated and run down. The front desk staff was rude. We got locked out of our room. No housekeeping. Elevator out of order. Ice machine out of order. Breakfast was mediocre. We have stayed at this inn for many years. We will never stay there again.

Something Changed
I had very heavy luggage and the elevators were out of order. I was initially given a 2nd floor room, I was then given a 1st floor room. The desk clerk said it was a non-smoking room, but I could smell smoke in the hallways and it filtered into my room. I had my beverages and the ice machine on the 1st floor was also out of order and I had to walk to the 2nd floor to get ice. I was not told at check in, that I would have to request my room to be cleaned if I wanted it cleaned so I went 2 days without my room cleaned until I asked why. This use to be my go to hotel whenever I came to Lansing, but it is obviously under new ownership . I was not happy and probably will not go back. Other guests were somewhat noisy, through out the night I heard loud bumping. I will not go back.

Desperately needs new beds!!
The hotel is off the highway, which can be a good thing or bad (depending on your preference). Upon arrival, there is plenty of free parking. The staff was absolutely nice and friendly. Elevator was out of order, and we were given preference of room, we chose a second floor. The stairs smelled as if someone had just finished smoking...it smelled bad! the room is old and has not been renovated in a long time, has a little smell but nothing terrible. The beds are HORRIBLE. The beds need to be replaced, period. The mattress springs are sticking up and cannot be hidden, you can clearly see them through the sheets and comforter. My husband and I barely slept, and woke up with back pain from the mattress springs. I do not recommend staying here. Unfortunately for the staff because they are so nice.
