We liked the warm welcome by the receptionist at check in. We liked the range and quality of the items available at breakfast. We also liked the location of the hotel, close to the main railway station and city centre.
This hotel seems to be off the beaten path, though turns out to be close to so much and a main path that leads to the Hauptplatz square. Staff was friendly and were offering many great suggestions.
I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The view from our room was superb, the hotel staff was great and very friendly and helpful and the room decor was very well appointed.
Good location walkable to shops, restaurants and most central areas. Staff very friendly and were able to accommodate an early check in. Rooms comfortable and clean. Very good breakfast offered.
Really charming and friendly staff at the desk. Great room with everything we needed. Quiet and clean. Great choices at breakfast although the space could be larger to accommodate as many guests as wanted to sit.
Centrally located, this hotel was very convenient for exploring Linz. Rooms on the smaller size and fairly basic. Very clean with staff being polite and good senses of humour. Have since stayed in another leonardo in Spain due to my good experience here.
The Leonardo Boutique Hotel is situated in a perfect location just a few minutes walk from Hauptplatz in the Alstadt, Landstraße, the pick up point for the sightseeing train and Pöstlingbergbahn, Buy a combo ticket and take in a Danube cruise too! There are bars and restaurants on Hauptplatz as well as bakeries where you can purchase freshly made sandwiches and cakes. Don’t forget to try the Linzertorte at Jendrak! For those of a futuristic mindset, the Ars Electronika museum is a must. The residents of Linz are lovely people, as are the staff at the hotel. Rooms at the Leonardo are very comfortable, and provide everything you need for a short stay. If you prefer a cup of tea in the morning instead of the coffee machine, you can obtain a kettle at reception.
Transfers to and from the airport are around £23 in an Uber. Bus 601 from the airport to Linz main railway station is about €5 pp but the bus only runs every hour.
I would highly recommend Linz for an enjoyable city break.
NB. We travelled on 24th August for five days. The weather was glorious - 30 degrees during the day and balmy in the evening.
I liked the Leonardo. I didn't have a car and it's a few blocks walk from the tram line, but not a difficult walk. Air conditioning was definitely appreciated, in a heat wave! Room was functional and clean, staff were polite. I didn't take the breakfast option so can't comment. (Lots of restaurants on the main street.) My one negative comment, which didn't seriously affect my stay, is that the carpet on the 3rd floor hallway is seriously in need of cleaning or replacement. Maybe I wouldn't say that if everything else hadn't been so well maintained!
Anyway, very good value, and I'd be happy to stay there again or recommend it to someone else.
In the picture, the Leonardo is the buff-colored building. In spite of the fact that there seems to be an entrance on the street, you actually go in via the driveway to the parking garage.
very comfortable room, very centrally located and breakfast was amazing (ended up wishing I had more space to eat more)! We ended up parking outside of the hotel parking as we found a lot more affordable parking just a few minutes away from the hotel. The staff were nice and helpful
This was a very comfortable place to stay and the staff was very accommodating. I would recommend it to others. The only strange thing for me was the bathroom door was glass and not very private (there was some frosted parts but not enough) so that made it slightly awkward sharing with my 22 year old daughter. Overall a great place to stay!
The only problem we encountered was during check-in.
But after this issues were solved by a very friendly team of employees we an outstanding experience with this hotel. I would certainly go back again.
