  • RVA offers Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort. Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #258 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.



    Accommodations: Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort is a relaxing retreat located directly on the Gulf of Mexico on the northern-end of Longboat Key. Choose from our various unit styles including hotel rooms, one- and two-bedroom garden view units, and one- and two-bedroom beach front units.



    Unit #258 Features: 1-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit in the Orange Building. Includes views of both the pool and Gulf of Mexico from your private patio. Unit has recently received a luxury pillow top mattress topper for those that prefer a softer rest.

Great quiet get away

Great location. We loved that it was an easy drive to lots of parks an other attractions. Great beach walks.

Wonderful experience!

My 19 year old son really liked the place so that should be praise enough since most of the time we only get grunts or nods out of him. Lol. We enjoyed our short stay in this cozy unit right next to the Gulf. Beautiful sunset and walks on the beach.

Only downside was on three mornings we woke up to find roach type insects in the kitchen. They were upside down so we assume they were dying? We mentioned this to the person at the front desk and she said they were Palmetto bugs?

Great Accommodation

I was very happy with the actualAccommodation. Well Mainrained and great view of water and sunset. I arrived and the manager had left early and left keys which was great. But I was unaware this had lots of steps up to get to unit and no elevator that I found. So I , having had knee surgery earlier, couldn’t get my suitcase upstairs so I had to make several trips taking in just what I needed for one night. Only other “complaint” is that housecleaning knocked loudly on my door well before the 11:00 checkout and woke me up. I would recommend this unit but know that there are steep steps up.

Management is very friendly and accommodating. This is a great location about midway in the key and is an easy commute to locations. We have been to this place twice and would stay again.

a wonderful week on Longboat Key

We enjoyed our week on beautiful Longboat Key and were very happy with our accomodations at Silver Sands. Our unit was well-equiped with everything that we needed. Very nice property. Pool not heated though.

Room was nice, but it’s an awkward layout - you enter into the bedroom first and then walk through to get to the kitchen living room area. Also the pullout couch bed was very uncomfortable, really only fit for a small child or the like.

Nice property, daily cleaning and housekeeping needs work

This was our 1st visit to Silver Sands. We have been coming to LBK for over 10 years but stayed at other places. The property, grounds and beach are great ( although our unit needs a facelift). What kept this from 5 stars was the quality and attitude of the housekeeping staff. Towels are supppsed to be changed daily and weren't. Bed linen are to be changed every 3 days, but was only changed once in 2 weeks. When we asked for new towels, the cleaning lady couldn't understand us and also looked disappointed when we said we'd like our room cleaned. One day it was not cleaned at all. Finally, the management allows smoking in the lanais. I am disapppointed with this policy, because the smoke drifts around. The people next to us were chain smokers and the smoke drifted into our lanai and caused us to stop using the lanai and keep the door closed to our unit.
