  • Perched above Newbury Park in the Santa Monica Mountains, this modern DWELL-style retreat offers expansive mountain views while putting guests within easy reach of Malibu beaches, hiking trails, Dark and quiet night skies. Great place to entertain, both inside and out. Feels like you are on a secluded retreat in the hills with Pacific Ocean breezes in the afternoo.
    One-acre lot, pet-friendly large enclosed yard, Dwell modern style, family-friendly. BBQ with beautiful front deck all set up for alfresco dining.
    3 bedrooms with an additional Art Studio/Office that can be closed offer for privacy and has a large couch that can be used to sleep on if necessary. 2 bath house in a quiet residential area. Master bathroom features a two person jacuzzi tub next to a spa like shower. Outdoor shower with total privacy. Set back off of a cul de sac. 25 minutes to the Malibu beach, 45 minutes to LAX. An hour and a half from Disneyland, 45 minutes from Santa Barbara. 20 minutes to Camarillo Outlet Mall. Horse ranch with horses to rent 5 minutes from the house, beautiful state park hiking and biking trails five minutes from the horse.Trailhead at corner of property that opens up to hiking.

This is our second time staying at the modern rustic retreat. Both times we enjoyed our stay very much. The home is always very clean, the kitchen is well stocked and we enjoy the views from the back patio.

We loved this house! The setting is so special with a beautiful view of the mountains and a nice sitting area outside with fire pit. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

We had a wonderful week’s stay here. Clean and comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood. Beds and pillows were super comfortable. We loved opening up the giant doors to and spending time on the back patio where the owner has pretty gardens and the view is fantastic. Great access to scenic road cycling which is what we traveled here to do. Thank you Daniel for sharing your home with us.

Great get away! Very quiet and peaceful. Everything we needed, from kitchenware to towels and linens, felt like a home away from home. Lovely weekend getaway

Great stay!

I can honestly say this is probably the best VRBO we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many! It was clean, comfortable and so well stocked! You didn’t want for anything! It has a great backyard and a huge sandpit for kids to play, also well stocked with toys. My grandson loved it there! We will definitely book again!

This is the 2nd year we’ve stayed here and we loved it every bit as we did last year! It has everything you would ever need and great for young kids. My 3 year old grandson spent many hours playing in the back area which had a sandy area to play with the toys that are there for them! The back patio is an oasis of foliage and flowers and a magnificent view. Looking forward to coming again next year!!

Absolutely Awesome!

We’ve booked many rental homes with our family and Modern Rustic Retreat was one of the very best we’ve experienced. The home had stunning vistas and multiple conversation areas. It had a well-appointed kitchen. We enjoyed the neighborhood, the nice neighbors, and lots of hiking trails in walking distance. We would highly recommend it.

Came to Cali from Michigan for our 1st borns wedding. We have a family of 6 and the space was ideal. Location to venue was perfect. Loved the layout of the home. We actually had the rehearsal dinner catered in at the house due to the layout and outdoor areas.

Fire Pit with Terrific View

The living spaces were much larger than I expected. The best part was the adorable little patio with a big fire pit and a fabulous view. And it was so peaceful!! Would have been nice to have some sort of closet or at least a hanger in one of the small bedrooms. Terrific kitchen with everything we could ever want. We had guests over and had no problem with fitting 18.
