It was so quaint. I had a room with a large window over looking a private garden. So it felt safe, quiet, private and beautiful. The staff were so helpful. And the location was great — right in the middle of the city walls.

La Colonna in Lucca - fantastic place!

Our family stayed at La Colonna for 4 days. It was a nice, clean, quiet place to stay and cleanliness is very important to me. Check-in was easy and the host was friendly and gave us great advice on a nearby laundromat and a small cafe. A great place to stay inside the walls of Lucca. Convenient to anyplace you would want to go - restaurants, shopping, sites. We made day trips to Pisa and Sienna and drove around Tuscany. Would definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful place to stay within the walls of Lucca.

Great location within the walls of Lucca. Easy to find from the train station. Very hospitable. Easy self check-in, coffee and tea provided. Small bathroom but not unusual for lodging in old buildings. Luggage storage available.

学会参加のために連泊しましたが、不満は一切ありませんでした。 きれいで広めの部屋で、アロマも設置してあるこじゃれた部屋でした。エアコンはありませんでしたが、天井のファンで全く不便しませんでした。 共用スペースにはエスプレッソマシンやハーブティーが用意されていて自由に飲むこともできてよかったです。 一番奥の部屋でもwifiは利用可能でした。速度もまずまずだったと思います。 注意点としては、基本的に午前中しか係員がいない為、セルフチェックインになる点が挙げられます。チェックイン前にホテルに連絡することが重要です。

Great stay.....

Fantastic B&B, close to station and inside the walls of Lucca. Was a comfort to come home to every day after our extensive sight seeing every day not to mention everything inside Lucca itself. Highly recommend.

a beautiful little boutique hotel near the guinigi tower in the heart of lucca, which is already very walkable. mirko is a gracious, helpful and kind host. the rooms are nicely decorated and the bed is made daily which we didn’t expect but was a nice surprise! very comfortable and a GREAT value.

Great break

The hotel was small, room only. The room was very comfortable and the Mirko at reception was so helpful. Tea and coffee available 24 hours. Everything within the walls of Lucca was less than 15 minutes.

Marko a great host. Gave excellent tourism advice regarding sites to visit, restautants and other areas. Great cafe/bar PIQI nearby for breakfast or relaxing drink at end of day

Good stay overall, could have been better

Good stay overall, cosy little room on ground floor for this B&B conveniently located within the old city walls. We were a bit dissapointed by two things: 1. breakfast was not included in a Bead & BREAKFAST; 2. we had to wait at the door on the day of our our arrival. I assume low winter season is the reason but still.. Again, the stay was still pleasant but there is room for improvement.

Affittacamere in pieno centro storico

Non è corretto definire questo come b&b in quanto ha un corridoio con 5 camere al piano terra, senza locali per soggiorno o colazione e senza finestre. La colazione viene servita solo in estate ma al momento della prenotazione era indicata come fornita, il che è fondamentale visto che questa è una info che si vuole avere prima di prenotare e non dopo. Il punto forte del posto sono la posizione centrale e disponibilita e gentilezza del gestore ma i locali sono vecchiotti e non rimodernati da molto tempo. Molte cose andrebbero sistemate per esempio i bagni il riscaldamento e la caldaia rumorosa. Nonché il forte odore di muffa e umidità del posto. Il locale è angusto buio e con aria pesante non essendoci finestre, camera 5 meglio ma cmq vecchiotta. Prezzo è meglio di altri ma considerando il basso standard e del posto e mancanza di prima colazione lo rende non poi così economico per Lucca in dicembre. Consigliato per una brevissima sosta se si vuole un letto per dormire a due passi da quello che c'è da vedere a Lucca. Altrimenti da evitare. Cmq Grazie al proprietario per la disponibilità ma raccomando caldamente un ristrutturazione totale del posto.

Not impressed, skip this one.

For the life of me I can't understand the high points for this B&B. It's location is good, it's on the first floor and the beds & pillows were comfortable. That's the good news. The room has black mold on the wall by the bunk bed. we didn't take a shower because the 'towels' were dish cloths. The heater was extremely loud, clunky sounding that then clicked when it cooled down. We saw the owner upon arrival and never again. We asked him to plug in the frig. There was a coffee maker but we couldn't figure out how to use it and he didn't explain it. there was NO breakfast, NO coffee. I understand that we came in November and no one else was there or was scheduled all week. But if he wanted to shut it down or give us a place without the full ammeneties, he should have offered us a discounted rate. We stayed in 4 places in Tuscany and this was the 'only fail'.

AMAZING Experience in Lucca at the B&B La Colonna!

The B&B was central to everything...it was so easy to walk there from and to the train station, as well as late at night. Mirko is the best host I have ever had. He gave us so many suggestions of things to do, local things to eat and where to eat. All his suggestions were spot-on... I truly believe that without Mirko, we wouldn't have had as great of a time in Lucca. Also, his breakfast was the best I had during my whole 17 day trip through Italy. Everything was fresh from a nearby bakery. The rooms are big enough, the beds are super comfortable, and every room has its own bathroom. There are also 5 rooms in the B&B which means that it's actually really quaint and quiet and allows for a more personal experience in the B&B since Mirko takes the time to get to know you. I loved Lucca and B&B La Colonna... I can't wait to go back!
