    3/5 Okay

    Not as advertised
This property was overtaken by large black ants and so many cobwebs. Floors had not been swept or mopped in months and I had to clean the oven before we could even use it. They only supplied two bath towels for the entire stay for two people. I contacted the property owner and she refunded my cleaning deposit, which was nice. However, you can't hike the property nor can you fish as there is a large tree at the end of stairwell to the creek. There is no A/C in the home and some windows didn't open and most of the others had ripped and torn screens. Overall if someone would give this place a little TLC it would be a super cute place to stay.

    The Whimsical Cabin
The cabin was nice and secluded nestled back in the woods, spacious enough for 4 adults and 1 child. We had a wonderful time roaming the property and it's a short walk to downtown. No wifi at the house, which made for more quality family time, however I was still able to get phone service at the house. From the porch and back patio the river view is beautiful, I only wish we could have been able to access the water, however we were still able to fish the on the bank. Also be mindful that under the stairs leading to the water, there is an underground bees nest, as long as you don't disturb the pine needles on the steps they leave you alone, no worries. The only improvements the property needs are a few window screens and replacement of at least one if not both twin mattresses in the smallest bedroom (my 7 year old didn't have any issues though). Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent here and will be reserving again in the future.

    5/5 Excellent

    Outdoorsy escape from the city
Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from home and spend a few quiet, peaceful days in the woods. It's located right by a suburban neighborhood so it's not too daunting - a quick drive will get you to the supermarket and other necessary trips. But the long driveway and surrounding woods at this house will make it feel like you're stepping away from civilization, as the trees obscure all other houses around the area. The cabin is rustic and has character. Plenty of windows to open to circulate air as well as ceiling fans (although no A/C as well as no wifi). The fire pit and enclosed patio area was lovely to spend time in as the day slowly darkened into night. The stairwell from the cabin directly descends to the river, which was scenic (and would be convenient for fishing purposes). The indoor fireplace was also a nice touch when it got too buggy out. Fully stocked kitchen, functional and clean bathroom. Christine was helpful and communicative with any questions!
