We were a party of four, traveling with two kids (11 and 14). We stayed for 7 nights. The first night was very disappointing. The listing said there was a king bed that we could not found. Peter was out of town and left us a contact number for Magali. I called her but did not hear back until the next morning. We also found three brown pellets on the double bed room underneath the comforter, looked disgusting. I took a picture and sent it through the Vrbo system around midnight. I had listed the number of guests, so not sure why there was an oversight.
Magali came in the next morning, added a foam mattress/cushion of sorts on top of the sofa in the Theater room and made a comfortable bed that was about the size of a king bed. She also did the double bed that had the pellets and identified the pellets as dog food. Peter was very apologetic and gave us a $300 refund and called us to make sure our issues had been taken care of. Magali was very responsive every time we had a question since then.
Towards the end of our stay, Internet was not working one morning. I texted Magali to let her know and asked if we should reset the router. I specifically texted “I don’t want to touch anything I should not be toughing”. She said to try resetting and told me where the router was located. Apparently, there was a general outage and by resetting the router, the configuration was lost. Peter wanted to charge us $200 for the technician fee. I shared the text exchanges that I had with Magali where we were encouraged to reset the router. He realized that it was not our fault and waved the $200. Peter is a reasonable person, I just think dealing with a middle person makes communication challenging.
The house has outstanding views and it is comfortable. We enjoyed the decks with awesome views. The location is good, 30 minutes from RMNP and about the same distance to Boulder. We visited the first week of June, temperatures were cool overnight. There isn’t air conditioning (as listed) so keep that in mind if you are traveling on a hot week. Also, the theater room (with the assembled king bed) does not have blinds or curtains. It has a very nice view, but it is also very bright. Keep that in mind, if you are visiting through the long days of Summer and somebody intends to sleep there. Light did not bother my teenage son. We did not do much in Lyons, visited RMNP several days and went to Estes Park and Bolder.
