Very disappointing experience at Riad Samir Privilege Boutique & Spa. I want to make it clear that the front desk staff during check-in were not the issue — the problem was management and the lack of communication and professionalism.
I confirmed early check-in multiple times before arriving, including a week before, two days before, and again the day of arrival. Despite this, nothing was communicated properly, which caused my friends and I to spend hours trying to locate the riad late at night after our flight while receiving little to no response from management. It was an extremely stressful start to our trip.
The rooms were much smaller than advertised in the photos and had an unpleasant smell. Food service was also very slow, with dishes taking a long time to arrive.
Another disappointing part was the excursion recommendations through the riad. We later found much better options elsewhere in Marrakech, and after declining the riad’s excursions, the atmosphere toward us became noticeably colder and less welcoming.
Management also acknowledged the issues we experienced and mentioned compensation would be provided, but this never happened and follow-up messages were ignored afterward.
Overall, the experience did not match the expectations set online. There are many other riads in Marrakech with better communication, hospitality, and overall service. I would recommend looking at other options before booking here.
