"Since this property was originally owned by an ancestor of George Washington, you receive a little history of the family and property which I thoroughly enjoyed. Beautiful, beautiful property. Wonderful service for breakfast. Lovely accommodations."

"I have never met a friendlier or better trained staff in 50+yrs of travel. Trained to call you by name; surprise xtra’s on night turndown. Low key hospitality and excellent food. I will remember the Salt and Meadow yeast rolls as “best ever”. Upstairs halls could use touch up paint and artwork but room was immaculate and bed/pillows etc very comfortable."

"Beautiful home and amazing views! We had a wonderful trip and Cape Charles is charming! Loved the amenities of the pool/gym and the ease of getting around on golf carts. We will definitely be back!"
Red Roof Inn Newport News - Yorktown

"The staff were very helpful during my stay, particularly Ryan at the front desk. I'm hard of hearing in one ear, and he was very kind and respectful. Unlike most hotels, Red Roof Inn does not charge a crazy pet fee, and that added to the convenience of the trip. A cat showed up on my porch a couple weeks ago. I've been in the process of getting him healthy and was able to bring him along with me. There was a small deposit, and it was returned upon inspection of the room after the stay. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone traveling around the Newport News and Williamsburg area."

"Cozy and comfortable. Owner was responsive to questions quickly! Quiet, with lovely views! Beautiful sunset, just as advertised! Hot tub was a nice feature and perfect on a rare cool summer evening! Pet friendly was added bonus on this trip! Will stay here again!"
