It is an ok place if you are going to an event very nearby like a play or concert. There is no pool and the river is a fairly long walk through a pretty boring business district, so there are definitely better locations for general site-seeing, but if you get a great deal there is enough in walking distance to make it ok. The "included breakfast' was about the worst pre-packaged stuff I've ever had, so definitely don't think you are getting a good rate considering the food. They didn't even have Cheerios or granola, just sugar cereal. Someone came in off the street and took most of the other stuff two days in a row. Staff was aware and didn't do anything besides restock the food.

Staying at the Alexander Mansion was like stepping back in time to a unique era in Winona history. Our host is very knowledgeable, welcoming and gracious. We were very impressed by all the attention to detail, the delicious breakfast, the lovely rooms and all the special touches that made this an amazing and memorable visit. Thank you so much.

Great boutique hotel with a great restaurant / bar and comfy shared areas. Location could not be better and the dinner we had was one of the best we've ever had anywhere.
