However, if you are looking for an excellent place to stay with gracious hosts and family, then this is a perfect spot in Tanabe. We stayed here on 10/24-25 to hike Kumano Kodo trail. Koushi and Chiyoko were extremely gracious hosts and treated us like family while we were there. They went "beyond the call of duty" to help us in finding a lost jacket left on the train and they made sure we were safe all along the way. ...

"Owner was great and super kind. He picked us up from the station. He gave us a tour of the building and also a review of the local area and recommendations for places to go. This place was awesome. The only minor issue i had was the room was fairly large and one of the AC units was broken. It was difficult to keep it cool even with the fan and other working unit on high. "

"This is a guesthouse, not a hotel. Be sure you know this before booking. You get a private room with bedrolls for the number of people you booked. The owner speaks English, and is willing to drive you to the train station, or supermarket if you need something. He will also pick you up if you are able to call in advance. The bathrooms were clean, and the owners very friendly! A great authentic Japanese experience!"

"部屋が広いだけで何もありませんでした 時計も無いし、キッチンに冷蔵庫とコンロがあるのにお皿もありませんでした。 サプリメントや買ってきたものを食べるためにフロントに聞いたら自分で取りに行かなくてはいけませんでした。 一緒に行った人の朝食がお盆でワンプレートでしたが、良く見るタイプの パンに付けるジャムとバターの蓋が開いていました。 他の人に出して、その人が開けたけど食べなかったのだと思います。 サラダも乗せ忘れていました。 暫くは無いものだと思っていて気がつきませんでした。 蜜を避けるために入れ換えせいで朝食でしたが、前のグループが食べ終わっていないからと入れなくて待たされました。 早く食べてチェックアウトの荷造りをしたかったのにチェックアウトは時間内ですか？ 田舎の宿で、都会とはもてなしが違うと感じました"
