I stayed at Harrah’s for a three-day conference, and the biggest advantage was the convenience, being so close to the event made the stay comfortable and worthwhile. The hotel itself is on the older side. The lobby isn’t anything to brag about, but it does give you that classic Vegas feel. However, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone sensitive to smoke. The lobby has a strong smoke smell which is expected in Vegas, but I do think the hotel could do a better job improving ventilation and adding a fresher, more inviting scent.
The room itself was perfect for my needs: quiet, comfortable, clean, and cool. The design and aesthetic clearly show that it’s an older property, but for the price I paid, I really can’t complain. I was barely in the room because of my busy schedule, but for sleep, quick naps, and getting ready for the convention and evening events, it served its purpose.
Like most Vegas hotels, they charge resort fees, so the nightly rate you see online almost doubles once those are added. There are plenty of food options on-site, but they are on the pricey side, so expect to pay a bit more for breakfast, lunch, and especially dinner.
Overall, the hotel was good and I would recommend it to someone whose expectations aren’t too high. If you prefer something more upscale, look beyond this area of the Strip past the Palazzo and down. But if convenience is your priority, Harrah’s will get the job done.
