3.5/5 Good! (928 reviews)
We booked a stay here because we were going to be in LA for several days and we wanted to save money. It achieved this goal. We had a place to crash for fairly cheap, and I don't regret it. The staff are great, the cleaners are, if anything, a little overenthusiastic (they replaced my soap every day?!).
That said, the area is quite noisy, so definitely pack ear plugs. Saturday night the motel was also quite lively with the kind of stuff you might expect to go on in a motel. That stuff happens in hotels too, but if you're sensitive about actually seeing it, this might be a bit uncomfortable. It is also very far from just about everything. A more central location will cost twice as much, but will likely cut your commute down by as much as a couple hours a day, so choose wisely.
In terms of amenities, there is very technically a pool and hot tub, but these are clearly out of commission. I'd be stunned if they'd been cleaned or used in the last 5 years. We didn't end up using the laundry facilities so I can't comment on that, but it's nice that it's available. The "free" coffee machine has, from what I can tell, been broken for several months, but there is an exceptional coffee place down the street at Olympic Donuts - get a coffee and one of those jalapeno croissants (there is meat in it) and you're starting your day right. Literally best croissant we've ever had, and we have had some very, very fancy, expensive stuff at French bakeries. There's also a Denny's on the corner.
