I expected the buffet experience to be bad and it was actually good. I expected the sit down dining experiences (kulinarium, Steak House) to be good and it was bad. Entertainment was good from the property side. I feel like the other guests didn't fully commit to the party vibe. No ATM at the property had to go off-sit.

Some of the wait staff was very unpleasant, no good morning or hello. They looked very unhappy and not too thrilled to be at work. As a guest I did not feel welcomed but more like an inconvenience. I made a reservation at the Steak House which was a disaster - the waiter took the dinner order after a long long wait and never came back. When I finally saw him and asked about my dinner he looked confused...why I don't know because he never brought my food. So, in a nutshell I did not get my dinner and the kitchen closed. I filed a complaint with the manager and assistant manager that fell on deaf ears with no resolution in sight. I requested a call from the General Manager which never came so clearly, no one cared at all!!! Especially since the wait staff spends more time talking to each other rather then making sure the guest are pleased. The buffet food is not good and lacks seasoning even the hamburger and hot dog was nasty which says a lot. However, there is a Burger king close by as well as KFC in walking distance. Also, went to the jerk hut on the beach for lunch which was another disaster. We were on line waiting for food and it started to rain. The gentleman working the hut just walked away without saying a word and left a long line of people with plates in hand wondering what happened. We waited thinking he would be right back but that was not the case. Overall, I did not enjoy my stay at this RIU property and doubt I would recommend it to my friends or family.
