"A lovely hotel in a great location. Large comfortable room, with great bed. Very nice food with a big selection on the menu. Very dog friendly. Nice garden with adjoining garden to the castle garden, so room to exercise your dog. Close to beautiful walking areas. The perfect break"

"Nice to be in an annexe so no noise from the pub. Accomodation was good for the price paid and the pub was an excellent local and well patronised. Would not hesitate to stay there again."

"Super little boutique hotel, this was our second stay and we hope to stay again. The hotel is in a great position close to the award winning market and the town. Lots of interesting eating and drinking venues close by and lovely walks along the Severn River. The food at the Loopy Shrew is excellent as is the service. "

"The Burlton Inn was excellent for our needs, being halfway home from Southampton to our home for an overnight stop. The pub itself was very attractive, and the local beer was rally good. The accomodation was fine. The rooms were in an adjacent cottage style annexe, just across the large car park. The choice of evening meals was wide, and the food was good. Breakfast was continental only, but very healthy. Would we stay there again? YES!

"Clean, cozy and convenient. Perfect for our stay. Pub downstairs has music but we didnt mind as it was quiet at 10 Monday to Wednesday. Great location and kind staff. Very old and quirky which we love! Great stay."
"The rooms were immaculate and even had a a book in there explaining the history behind the building which was really interesting. The food was amazing and the portion sizes were great all for good pricing. The area is very quiet but there’s plenty of places to go that’s within walking distance or 5-10 minutes in the car but it truly is set out as the Victorian/Tudor era. The staff were so attentive and friendly. Overall amazing stay and would definitely come again!"
"The room was spotless, spacious and well equipped. I loved the DAB radio on the bed side. Nice touch. I prefer to listen to music/ podcasts/ audio books when staying away for work.
I was welcomed by the lady on reception as though I was a friend, not a guest. Certainly, the cheeriest greeting I have ever had when checking in.
The car park is a little tight but there are plenty of public car parks really close.
The restaurant was nice, with a good, varied menu and breakfast was top quality"
"This is the fourth time at the Prince Rupert and it doesn't disappoint. A proper traditional hotel with lovely staff and offering a glass of sherry on arrival. Very good traditional breakfast, but a variety of healthy options available too.
Parking can be a bit of a challenge, with an off-site parking area that can be completely full when you get there, so you need to find an alternative yourself.
Other than that, the Prince Rupert is situated in the central area of Shrewsbury with all of the picturesque areas well within walking distance, and plenty of good restaurants to visit too. We will return. "
