Stroll a little way in either direction and you will almost always be able to find a spot on the 3-mile (5-kilometer) stretch of fine white sand that lets you feel as though you have your own private beach.
In recent years the area has become known as something of a beacon for adventure seekers, with the mild, consistent winds providing the perfect conditions for kite surfing. Learn to kite surf or windsurf in the warm, crystal clear waters. Several centers on the beach run individual and group courses. Mui Ne is also one of the best spots to surf in Vietnam, with regular gentle waves offering ideal conditions for beginners and improvers. Arrange lessons and board rental on the beach.
After a few hours of riding the waves, relax on the soft sand. Look on as the talented locals complete amazing tricks on the water or find a beach chair and get some sleep under the midday sun. For complete tranquility, take a short stroll up or down the beach to escape the crowds who stick to the patch of beach in front of the resort hotels.
Mui Ne Beach is just over 120 miles (200 kilometers) from Ho Chi Minh City. Buses run several times throughout the day, with the journey taking approximately 4 hours. Some of the beach resorts rent deckchairs and umbrellas and most have pleasant bars. Stop in to enjoy a cold drink and a superb sea view.
