Weekend Getaway

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: I liked that it offered a sea view or mountain view and the pools and dining experiences were superb!
Cons: Can't really think of much at this time.
Location: This hotel is located near the Qurm Nature Park, which is a great place for an early morning or evening stroll. It's a bit far to just walk too though
I had to spend a couple days out of UAE, so I chose The Intercontinental becasue it also where I'm staying at in Abu Dhabi. Excellent hotel and services hands down! Thanks for a great 2 days of rest and relaxation!

Expected more

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: The breakfast was very nice. Good selection and the help in the dining area were wonderful.
Cons: You cannot make a tennis court reservation until the day you want to play. To play at 8AM, you have to wake up at 0530 and call for a reservation.
Location: There are places to eat within walking distance. You have a view of the ocean.
The AC didn't work very well so we found ourselves waking up during the night sweating. We arrived late at night and when I drove up in front of the hotel, we were not greeted. No one to help with luggage. I had to find help in parking our rental car.

Disappointing hotel

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: See above
Location: Good location near the beach and Opera House. Good having Trader Vic's right outside the hotel.
This was a disappointing experience. We weren't able to check in until 2.30, later than advertised. We were then wrongly allocated a room with twin beds and had to move. The second room had a double bed, but the bathroom floor kept flooding when the WC was flushed, the safe didn't work, the ensuite basin plug kept getting stuck closed, and one of the lamps was not working. Despite reporting these several times to the staff, only the safe was attended to, the day before we left. We were offered yet another room, but were assured that the issues would be attended to during our first day tour. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the hotel seemed disorganised. The restaurants, shopping and location were all good, but the hotel overall felt rather tired and dated; in need of refurbishment.

Intercontinental muscat

The hotel is a little tired but the staff were charming and helpful. I would stay here again in a club room although the bathroom was tired and could benefit from a good clean and the bed a little uncomfortable probably needs replacing

Staying in Oman

Posted Apr 7, 2015 on Hotels
Service was amazing. It was my Mother's 60th birthday and the staff were simply fantastic - room upgrade to a sea view, birthday cake, a bottle of wine in the room. Would definitely return for the service alone. Hotel seemed a little dated but it was great.

Great location on the beach with excellent grounds

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: the lovely grounds and leisure facilities, and impressive atrium in the lobby. the staff were very helpful. Good choice of restaurants on site.
Cons: interior room standards (were clean and comfortable but the bathrooms need updating)
Location: Royal Opera House Muscat is not to be missed. We loved walking along the beach, and the Big Bus which goes from the café area next door to the hotel.
We had a very enjoyable week in Intercontinental Muscat! We picked the hotel due to it's location on the beach, the choice of different restaurants on site and the lovely grounds and leisure facilities... and were not disappointed!

Standard InterContinental Hotel

Posted Mar 22, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff. Calm relaxed hotel. Helpful business centre for online check in.
Cons: Rooms were a little dated
Location: Walking distance to the Opera House which is worth a visit. Static tours are available Walking distance to the small seaside village.
We were here for 3 nights We had room 327 which had a Mountain view. At the start our wardrobe door was jammed shut but this was fixed by the maintenance man the next day. We used this hotel as it is walking distance to the Fantastic Opera House The breakfast is the usual excellent buffet
