Naples Independent Hotels & Suites

Very nice 3 bedroom home, close to stores and beaches. Loved it. House is a little dated but clean. Pool was great with a hot tub built in. Beautiful view of canal on a corner lot that felt secluded by empty lot next door and trees all around. Only weird thing...listed as three bathrooms (which we really wanted) and two of the bathrooms are in the master bedroom. So then 2 couples had to share a bathroom, while another couple got two whole bathrooms. Strange.

Nice place, but could not sleep well. The AC was very loud and the bed was making quiky noises. Even though the place is nice ultimately not that good due to bad sleeping conditions.

The main impression is the exceptional cleanliness. Staff were attentive, friendly and courteous. No restaurant, however, this hotel does have a lobby bar (5 days per week) or an honor bar (every day), plus a plentiful complimentary continental breakfast served every day. Many excellent quality restaurants within a maximum of 5 minutes drive, or a walk if you fancy, from the hotel. Publix next door for lunch and snack supplies. An extremely relaxing pool and spa area plus lake views. An ideal retreat for a relaxing romantic weekend away from it all. The beach is 1 mile away and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service. My wife and I really enjoyed our 3 night stay and we will certainly return in the not too distant future.

This hotel is a wonderful discovery. I loved my room and the hotel was perfection except for a couple of things. 1. The toilet seat cover in my bathroom screeched (squeaky is not strong enough a word) very loudly every time you lifted lowered it. I had to kind of laugh about it but also thought this was something that should have been fixed. 2. The maids started the vaccum at 8:15 am Sunday morning, right outside my door. I know it takes a lot of time to clean rooms but didn't think it was very smart planning on the housekeeping staff to start such a loud task so early on a Sunday. I've stayed in three different hotels in Naples, all reserved through Expedia, over the last 9 months. In each case, my room was on the first floor and definitely the noisiest. Are those the only rooms that can be reserved through Expedia, I wonder? I should note that this was the best experience (and quietest except for the vaccum) of all three hotels.

The Inn on Fifth was immaculately clean. Front desk & room services were impeccable.

Great quiet vacation. Very comfortable rooms and they offered loaner beach chairs & umbrellas at no charge. How wonderful when traveling by air. Pool was clean & nice. Hotel within walking distance to everything.

This was a beautiful place to spend our 44th wedding anniversary. We have not been to Marco Island in my decades, and it still has the same charm. The condo was spacious and beautiful, and just a short drive to a pristine beach full of shells at low tide. The French restaurant, although pricey, was outstanding. Be sure and try the baked brie appetizer-it's a meal in itself.

It is a place where you can feel at home. The staff makes you feel as if you are part of the family. It is beautifully decorated and is surrounded by trees and plants. A green oasis and hiding place. We will come back!

We booked for one night passing through Naples on business at the suggestion of a friend. The front desk was awesome - allowing us to check in early and upgrading our room. (It was September - height of the off-season.) We could not have been more pleased with the Grand. Some highlights: Long walk to the beach via an amazing boardwalk through a mangrove forest. (Tram available for this trip.) But we are not beach people anyway. Spectacular sunset from our room balcony. Lots of amenities. Great fitness center. Did not eat at the cafes - no particular reason - but every imaginable eating establishment within a short drive of Grand on Highway 41. I highly recommend "Jimmy P's Charred" for a great steak. My only complaint has nothing to do with The Grand - ladies: if you're going to come inside the hotel, please cover yourselves. Your virtually naked body may not be as beautiful as you think it is. What ever happened to modesty and common decency?
