1 BR, 1BA Log Cabin

Red Cedar Log Cabin
A meandering drive up a hill will lead you to the door of Red Cedar Log Cabin. Cozy and comfy for just the two of you, Red Cedar Log Cabin is conveniently located between Nashville, and Bloomington has the amenities necessary for a quiet time surrounded by the serenity of Brown County forests.

This comfortable cabin's combination great room and kitchen provides the opportunity to prepare a tasty dinner, or maybe just some popcorn to munch as you settle down in front of the TV for a favorite movie. A country look predominates in Red Cedar, as nearly all the furniture is of the rustic cedar log style, complemented by the pretty log walls and wood floors. The large bathroom offers guests the chance for a long soak in the two-person tub, or perhaps you'd prefer an invigorating morning wake-up in the separate glass-walled shower before you head off to the cozy bedroom.

Listen to the crickets and whippoorwills calling out to their neighbors from the front porch swing on a warm summer evening. If you enjoy country line dancing, Mike's Music and Dance Barn is just a short drive away, so you might want to give your partner a whirl around the dance floor at Mike's.

No matter whether you've come to Brown County wearing your cowboy boots for dancing, or hiking boots for traversing the trails in nearby Brown County State Park, at the end of the day, sliding into a bubbling hot tub on the back deck at Red Cedar is just what the doctor ordered for soothing the soul.

Brown County has so many entertainment options you'll just have to decide which activities will fit into your schedule. Mountain biking trails, horseback riding, canoeing, ATV tours, paintball games. These are just some of the outdoor choices available to you in the area. Then of course, there's shopping, music, live theater, dining, and visiting art galleries and artisans' studios to fill your days and nights, as well. Red Cedar Log Cabin is the perfect place to get started!

All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays.

Good weekend getaway
Exactly as presented online so look carefully at those pix! Clean, but it's not the Ritz. The living room furniture isn't the most comfortable but the bed was pretty comfy. The kitchen has what you need for some quick cabin meals. There's a fireplace and a pit outside, which is nice, just be prepared to clean up after yourself! The hot tub was really nice -- clean and warm and ready for a relaxing soak. There's also a Jacuzzi tub if you prefer to stay indoors. The shower is huge and the water is warm with good pressure. Plenty of towels were provided. The location is close enough to Nashville for a quick morning coffee run but otherwise, relatively isolated (that will change soon -- other houses are under construction a stone's throw away). Various hiking all around (10 minute drive) and Bloomington is about 20 minutes away. Morning coffee on the covered porch was great. I would def consider staying again!

Loud-ish
We have stayed in this cabin before and knew what to expect. Our only complaint was the new construction that started. Other than being woke up at 8 am from a chainsaw from cutting down all the marked trees. The actual owner of the property did stop by and apologized for the noise. It was just not as peaceful this time as it was in the past, we do recognize this was no fault of hills o brown

Perfect weekend getaway
This cabin was perfect for my husbands and my anniversary. Nice and quiet, private but still close enough to where we didn’t have to drive far to get to town.

Peaceful, secluded retreat
This wonderful cabin is secluded and provides a restful, peaceful getaway. It is beautifully rustic with all of the modern amenities you could want. We had a great weekend getting recharged and hiking Brown County. We will be back!

Weekend getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hot tub was awesome and the sunset and sunrise was phenomenal from our views. My favorite was sitting on the front porch swing drinking my coffee. The shower was amazing, very big and gives us an idea for our remodel at home! 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic Getaway
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here at the Red Cedar cabin for a weekend getaway to just relax and unwind. Property was very nice and clean. Hot tub worked well. All necessities included such as towels and dishes. Cabin was in close proximity of shopping and dining. Couch and chair were a bit uncomfortable for lounging, but overall it was a perfect stay for us. We really enjoyed our time.

Property needs some TLC
Upon arrival the property had no sidewalk, only slippery when wet uneven rocks leading up to the porch. The property needs some care and upkeep. The shower grout had alot of mildew and needed a major scrubbing. Quite a few of the light switches were missing the dimmer switches which made the property appear less than cared for. Both nights of our stay we woke up to find mice eating our unopened snacks on the counter. We then watched the mice run along the oven range before disappearing behind the fridge. This has been an ongoing issue according to multiple guests in the guest log on the kitchen table. The bedroom window shade was ripped and gave a poor impression along with the mismatched curtains. The hot tub was nice looking but made awful clunking sounds and the lights were nonfunctioning with the exception of one so we decided against using it to avoid being charged for damages incase the clunking ended up being a mechanical issue. It was just an okay property.
