“The beds were comfy. The dining are is well designed and the waffles were yummy. You do need to get to breakfast early. The pool was fun. Having a fridge and microwave is very convenient. The location is great. Parking was simple. The staff were attentive and friendly. The pool area would be next level with the addition of a few palm plants. Overall we were happy with our stay.”

Laurie serving breakfast shared a room of amazing area knowledge during our time in the breakfast nook. We did not have time to participate in the amenities offered but were impressed to see an offering for a scavenger hunt of the island, rec equipment to check out, a deck with picnic tables, and the pool looked very inviting! “Property was exactly as pictured, Crystal is very prompt if contacted & very accomdating to questions. If you are looking in ng for some quiet peacefulness yet close to the water, or nearby towns & attractions & travel with your dog this is the perfect spot! My dogs were very content & I had no worries as to if they would be bothered by distractions because there are no distractions, it was a vacation for them as well as cottage is on a quiet street & it was very nice to sit outside wuth them &……

“We have been visiting Chincoteague for many years and understand that many of the hotels are older, which has never been an issue for us. This trip, we decided to try Birchwood Inn instead of our usual accommodations. Upon arrival, the office sign indicated it was open, but the door listed three different phone numbers to call for assistance. After finally reaching someone, I was informed that our room key had been left in the mailbox beside the office door, meaning anyone could have potentially……

“Breakfast was great! Cannot complain about our stay. Rooms were clean and amenities were nice. Close proximity to everything and could walk through town for food. Loved the balcony definitely a nice view. I also loved the dock, great seating down there. I’d recommend taking breakfast to go and sitting out by the water”

“Too many flys in room”

“The pool is the cleanest area of the hotel, water would not drain in the tub while taking a shower. Blankets and sheets were stained and not clean at all, looks like just the beds were made.”

“The rooms were clean and well kept. The staff was helpful and very thoughtful and caring with my kids. Actually reopened the pool for 30 min so they could swim later in the evening. Fast check in and fast check out. Anything needed was promptly supplied or taken care.”
