Great hotel for runs into midtown and brooklyn

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: Great location if you need to get to Brooklyn and Manhattan. Actually sight seeing was just as easy - so long as you grasp the subway system.
Cons: ? seemed OK overall ?
Location: New York Transit Museum is just a few blocks away - this is a museum set in an old subway station and covers the history of mass transit in NY City.
I'm by no means a regular NY City visitor but when I have stayed in the past, I have usually stayed in one of the midtown places in Manhattan. This time I was invited to a wedding down in the newly gentrified part of Brooklyn so stayed at the Brooklyn Marriott right at the foot of the Brooklyn bridge. 1. Location was excellent - easy subway access and a short hop by car to LGA. 2. Good rooms - clean and orderly. 3. Noise level was ok - I was on the 5th floor and really didn't hear much street level stuff. 4. Facilities and amenities were as expected - to be totally fair - I wasn't really interested nor used the in-hotel exercise or dining option. There is a Panera and Starbucks around the corner, and several reasonable eateries - the rest of the time we were out at restaurants. So basically an excellent option.

Decent and convenient place to stay

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Facilities are adequate and, judging from the traffic at the desk, well used by airline staff. My room was very clean, well stocked in the bathroom, and had the amenities you'd expect from a Marriott. The staff was quite helpful, but since I had booked through Expedia, was I unable to change my plans easily so stayed an extra night rather than eat the room cost. There is no room service but a little snack bar downstairs works. However, Court Street which fronts the hotel has plenty of breakfast places to the left, including a Panera 300 yards down the way. Even further down, the street goes through the pleasant shopping street for the Cobble Hill neighborhood with a Trader Joe's on the way. The Borough Hill subway stop is right outside the hotel and if you can keep the 2, 3, 5, G, etc. lines in mind, quite easy to get around and across to Manhattan. All in all, a good place to stay.

Brooklyn Heights, close to SFC

Posted Aug 14, 2015
Pros: Hotel was close to SFC, new updates, full service hotel.
Cons: The room itself could use updates in furniture and decor
We arrived early and were able to check in early. We were greeted by a very nice and friendly staff member.

Cons: The bathroom door needs adjusting (room 439) It would not stay open.
Location: Perfect location for us. Near our children. Near to Cadman Plaza park. Easy walk to anything you might need.
We loved the pool and exercise room. The hotel is beginning to show some wear and tear, but seemed clean, and we were very comfortable there.

We like this hotel because it's location and environment are good. Restaurants, pharmacy, entrances of several different subways are all in walking distance.

Convenient Brooklyn Hotel

Posted Jun 12, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Rooms Service
Location: See above story
It was a crazy drive form Ohio to Brooklyn. We arrived at the hotel at 8pm and it was even crazier. There was a wedding party and a graduation dance for what I assume was a local high school. All of that crazy did not deter the amazingly professional staff at the Brooklyn Marriott. They got all four of our rooms checked in and the details to park our oversized van in a NY minute. I was super disappointed to find out at check in that they did not have room service. We were tired and the thought of going out to eat did not appeal to me. I had my 9 year old daughter and a very tired husband with me. They did have a bar/lounge/ restaurant that was very sheik looking. It was just off the lobby and they front desk staff indicated we could go there. We do not drink so taking my daughter in a bar was another heavy piece of news. But we went over after we went up to the room (which was beautiful). The lounge was stunning, the wait staff, very professional and absolutely NY cool and the food was out of this world. The seating was just lovely...very lounge like. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire eating experience. In the morning we were told where a great Brooklyn diner was....just steps away from the hotel. After breakfast we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge (a first for me and my family), came back, went to the hotel gym (lovely) then off to perform at a benefit (my husband is Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Jorma Kaukonen), came back to the hotel and left the next morning for Ohio. A++
