Was a great place to stay! The rooms are a little committed to some designer's edgy ideas from few years back, but I kind of liked it in a quirky way. The rooms were clean, bathrooms were great, and I'm glad we stayed there and it was a reasonable price!

While I do quite a bit of business travel, this stay was during the vacation, when I visited my son at TUM in Garching. My schedule was pretty loose, but at any time of day and night I've seen plenty of jetlagged travelers, catching up on work at the very comfortable lounge or enjoying a drink or two at the bar. We stayed with our adult children at the Hotel Obermaier during Octoberfest. It was all that we had hoped for. It is a traditional hotel with a good restaurant attached. It is convenient by Metro to downtown Munich. It is much more reasonably priced than closer-in hotels. Our room and bathroom were comfortable. The breakfast was unbelievably generous and delicious. We will definitely stay at the Hotel Obermaier if we are fortunate enough to return to Munich, particularly during Octoberfest.
