"The Lord Nelson is a gem of a hotel, with generous sized rooms and genuinely wonderful staff. What I really liked was the pub -- great beer and an authentic Sydney vibe. The location also is hard to beat. You will encounter noise, both from the pub until it closes and then from the road, which is busy from early. So, bring your ear plugs. "It is a budget stay with a shared bathroom. If you know and accept that, then you’ll be happy. The bed was very comfortable. No a/c but there is a fan. There is a shared, clean kitchen. There were no dramas. The location is really good and convenient to trains, cafes etc. I have no complaints. The hot water was great (but it takes a couple of minutes for the hot water to arrive so be patient)."
