As someone who has travelled to over 41 countries and stayed everywhere from some of the world’s finest luxury hotels, including Four Seasons, to simple three-star properties, I can confidently say that a hotel’s star rating is never what defines a great stay it’s the service. Unfortunately, my experience at Santa Pedra was one of the worst I’ve had. From the moment I arrived, I was disappointed. The property has stairs throughout, yet there was no offer of assistance with luggage, despite this being a basic level of hospitality that many hotels provide. The rooms are incredibly poorly soundproofed. Every morning I was woken by noise from surrounding rooms, and on arrival I was greeted by loud drilling and construction work taking place on the property. I had not been informed prior to my stay that these works were occurring. I was initially told it would only be for one day, however the same loud banging and disruption continued each morning. The staff carrying out the work were also extremely loud and showed little consideration for guests trying to enjoy their stay. The service throughout my stay was equally disappointing. Staff were dismissive when asked simple questions, and despite requesting an iron on four separate occasions, it was never delivered to my room. Sadly, this stay fell well below expectations. Staff were friendly and polite. Pool area was ok - clean but looked tired and some areas needed weeding. Pool was nice. Breakfast was ok - there were pastries, fruit and some cereal. Bar was ok but we were there for 4 days and on one day it was closed until tea time. Artwork on the building was good. The room was ok - there was a fridge, but no tea/coffee making equipment. Air con worked fine. The shower was small. Beds were comfortable. Location wise, it was a bit of a walk to get into the town - would have been difficult for someone with minor mobility issues and very difficult for someone either more challenging mobility issues. There is a good supermarket right over the road. Didn’t use the gym, but there were a range of exercise machines and weights available. It was a pleasant stay but nearer 3 stars than 4. One big tip - if you want to go on the beach, you have to book and pay to go on in advance - we weren’t able to go on the beach until after 6pm as it was fully booked everyday of our stay - plan that in before you go and book well in advance. You must also take a baboo cover to put down under your towel if you’ll be moved on. The beach was €3.50 per person per day when we went and you could hire sunbeds separately but also in advance.

The property is very charming with a unique and elegant decor. What Most impressões me was gründliches and quality of Service. A Great Place for a romantic stay. Food is excelent and they have a Michelin Star Restaurant called Fuoco Sacro that is worth the visit. I stayed for two Nights with my son in one of the larger rooms with a Pool. The room was so spacious and nice that it was worth the value. Not to say the vew to The Valley and the Location which is very close to San Pantaleo and a Short Ride to Porto Cervo.

The hotel and facilities are nice, and advertised well & accurately online. Nice hotel, on the countryside, with charming Sardinian feel. The “average” review is primarily due to the poor communication and service during our stay from staff (we had 4 guest rooms booked as well as a villa, and had a lot of interaction with both daily staff and administration. An example: we asked about charming local restaurants to concierge prior, were disclosed no options other than hotel owned. We requested a dinner reservation, but upon arrival discovered many beautiful restaurants in nearby san pantaleo, and requested to change our reservation to accomodate something more of our style. We were imposed a 500$ cancellation because of this, despire the restaurant being empty that evening, and had to argue with staff about this (they did not disclose a cancellation charge). Other small similar encounters felt as if we were being charged small penalties flippantly, perhaps because it was high season. Honestly, nice stay overall but would not return.
