Best winter cabin!
The cabin was perfect for our winter family vacation. It was cozy, provided the necessary amenities and a perfect location. We were not far from restaurants, and less than an hour to the Wolf Creek ski area. As a fellow A&M graduate we knew we were right at home with the Texas decor! I felt secure with my toy yorkie going out in the fenced backyard to do his business. The neighborhood was very quiet. The only complaints we noticed was the upstairs shower was not draining, and the upstairs beds made a lot of noise with minimal turns. We could hear the persons bed in the room next to us make noise. Overall, the cabin was wonderful and i would definitely revisit this one & tell our friends to visit as well.

Decent Little Place with some Pros and Cons
We didn't see a current review so wanted to give a quick one. Stayed here over Christmas 2023. House is quite large and allows dogs, that's a huge plus for us. House was not spotless but fairly clean for a rental. The location is great as right out the backdoor there is National Forest and plenty of walking trails. The internet was fast and they had Roku available which let us use all our streaming services. The direct TV also worked great with full programming. Just a heads up, if it snows, which it did while we were there you will need to brush off the dish. It's right outside the back door to the side of the house. Be careful walking out the back door to the right, there was a huge mound of ice, walking off the deck was initially tricky, the snow slides off the roof here and obviously thaws and freezes. I used a hammer and shovel from the garage to chip this away. The house is also a little dated and because of this the heat does not work perfectly. While the living room gets warm, the master bedroom and bathroom are very chilly, they do have electric heaters for these areas, but you can't use them at the same time as they will blow the breaker. The hot water gets very hot but takes quite a bit of time so turn it on and wait. The driveway did not get plowed while we were there after the snow, so it was quite icy from a previous snow and the snow we had while there. I didn't have a problem but it could be tricky for a person not used to this.

Lovely Property
This cabin is located in a beautiful area with the national park right outside of the yard. Great yard for your fur babies. The cabin is well stocked and very comfortable. A wonderful stay for sure.

A week in paradise
The property was perfect for our group of 4 and dogs. We loved the location with hiking out the back door. And the proximity to Piedra Rd and town was perfect. The house itself was very roomy inside and outside. Our only complaint was the week went by way too fast. Of the many houses we have rented in the past, this was definitely our favorite. We would definitely book this house again in the future.

Our family of four went for my dad's 60th birthday. The house was clean, well-stocked, and had lots of little thoughtful touches that we appreciated. What we loved most was how dog-friendly the home is. There is a double-fenced yard, a dog foot wash tub (really came in handy after it rained!!), extra doggie bags, extra leash, tons of towels specifically for pups, and food/water bowls. Utility sink in the laundry room really came in handy as well. There is a grill, board games, books, dish/laundry detergent, pots & pans, utensils, dishes, and extra towels. Extra blankets in closets, flashlights, fishing poles, a hammock.. the list goes on. Loved the soaking tub in the master bath. Not a lot of cell service out there but the wifi worked great. Easily accessible trail system out the back door; maps are in the drawer by the door. Lots of thoughtful attention to detail that truly made it feel like home. We wished we had stayed another couple of days. We'll definitely be back.

Great getaway
Great location north of town about 8 miles. Trails right out the backyard were great. House is equipped with great kitchen wares, dishes, large crockpot, laundry, outside chairs. Items we did not use but were available: 2 large dog crates in garage and a grill. It was great to have a place where our adult children could join us with their fur babies! We enjoyed the fireplace and the upstairs was great for the adult children/dogs. Look forward to renting in the summer so my husband can try out the fly fishing!

Wonderful Pagosa Springs vacation
We stayed a week with our dog and didn't want to leave. The house has everything you could possibly need, from a fully equipped kitchen to maps for the trail system directly off the backyard. The location is quiet and has a lot of wildlife, but is only a ten minute drive to downtown. We'd love to vacation here again.

We stayed with our friends, their three young children, and our pups. Loved the fenced in yard and access to trails just outside the back door. Great kitchen appliances and cookware for cooking all our meals. Would definitely return!

Perfect for us
We really enjoyed our stay here. We skied at Wolf Creek and enjoyed being nestled back in the trees. The house was clean and well appointed. Previous reviews said there was dog poop everywhere but we did not find this to be an issue. Also, the washing machine was working. The master did not warm up like the rest of the house but there is an electric blanket on the bed and a small space heater. Also, we found keeping the master door open helped a lot as well. We hope we have the opportunity to stay here again. The whole family (mom, dad, kids, and dog) all really enjoyed it!

The location of the house is terrific. It backs up to the forest, so the views are gorgeous. The house is located just 15 minutes from town, giving peace and privacy without sacrificing access to town. The roads and driveway were plowed so access is easy (though I still definitely recommend 4WD in winter). The backyard is huge and beautiful and there were 24 inches of snow waiting for us. Our dog had a blast romping through the snow. Note though, due to the amount of snow, the the trails near the backyard weren't accessible like it would be in the summer. The owners have made a lot of efforts to cater to a wide variety of interests (hammocks, sleds, games, etc). However, we found that a lot of things were not kept up very well. There were delays in light switches, the washing machine didn't work, the fireplace was finicky. I spoke with the maintenance person a couple of times on our trip. He was very professional and worked hard to make sure things were working for us, but it was clear that these problems have come up before and they hoped it wouldn't be a problem while we were there. Additionally, there was A LOT of dog poop on the deck. I realize that it should be the visitor's responsibility to pick up after their dogs on the deck, but the lack of action from anyone made the deck very gross. You couldn't step out either of the doors to the deck without potentially stepping on something. Then, the master bedroom and bathroom were very cold. The heat didn't seem to reach those areas very well. The thermometer in the bathroom read 50-55 degrees the entire time we were there. There was a space heater but it didn't make a difference. Lastly, there was no place to put clothes in the master bedroom. There is a wardrobe to hang clothes but any shelves in the wardrobe were used for storing sheets. Both of the closets in the master were also locked, so we had no storage for clothes that we couldn't hang. In all, the place is fine, but the location and lot are what makes the place appealing. Otherwise, until there is better attention given to the basic functions of the home, the home is just okay.

Great property. The heat was almost too much. Well kept and had everything we needed in the kitchen. We could have used a mop or something to help clean the dog mud, but we improvised and did fine. We could have used a light over the dining table, but other than that the area was beautiful and offered the privacy we wanted. Great views.

Quiet, dog-friendly
This property is truly a home away from home with a well-equipped kitchen, comfy bedroom, and worn-in, soft lovely leather living room furniture and numerous antique pieces throughout. The highlight for us was the large, securely fenced yard that allowed our dog some off-leash time . The setting is beautiful, private and serene.

Would not rent again.
When we arrived access to the drive was blocked by snow and we had to shovel our way in. Only one TV with zero sports programming. The master bedroom was not adequately heated.
