The Adobe Lake View Retreat- Entire House Near Julian

Our 2500 sq ft historic home nestled in a secluded hillside of Santa Ysabel is the perfect getaway retreat to host your next large group of family and friends. Built in 1949, this refurnished and modestly updated adobe home is part of Hideout Mountain, our boutique lodging property situated on 40 acres of mostly wilderness, which includes the one-of-a-kind bar & grill and outdoor music pavilion called Josie’s Hideout Saloon.  We are just 18 minutes from Julian and a few minutes down the road from the Santa Ysabel Business District.  We are also uniquely situated as a hub for popular biking, hiking, boating, fishing and motorcycle riding. Our spacious front and backyards are the perfect place to BBQ, entertain, play outdoor games or just relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of Lake Henshaw, Palomar Mountain & the spectacular valley below!
Our 5-bedroom adobe house is the crown jewel of San Diego Mountain Lodge, which includes 11 other modern cabins on this sprawling property. This private home can comfortably sleep your large group of 15 (*reduced cleaning fee offered for guests that are planing to use just 1 or 2 bedrooms).
Our aim is to create an enjoyably unforgettable experience for our guests by providing outdoor games (badminton, horseshoes, corn hole, & other boardgames), picturesque natural scenes with the added luxury of having available to rent one of the best historic bar & grills around for your next private party! Inquire at Josie's Hideout for more details!

Don't think that our backcountry locals are the only wildlife around here! This place is full of wild animals like deer, fox, raccoons, bats, ground squirrels and chipmunks. Once night falls, keep your ear's peeled for our local pack of coyotes while you star gaze under some of the darkest skies in San Diego County! We're also very proud to be a birder's paradise with more woodland birds here than you can shake a stick at! How about a chance to see(and hear!) turkeys, owls, scrub jays, cardinals, wood peckers, hawks, vultures and even the Western Tanager to name a few! Stroll the grounds and let us know what you discover!

We try to encourage our guests to unplug and unwind, but in case you want to Netflix and chill, we have all the modern comforts of home covered here too.
We really encourage our guests to unplug and unwind, but we also have all the modern comforts of home covered here too! We offer a 60” flat screen TV, Xbox 360 for the kid's room, and Wi-fi throughout. 50th Birthday Celebration and family gathering
We had a great time here. The host was very welcoming and available for any questions. We stayed during cold snowy conditions and it was very nice to have Central Heat and a fireplace to warm the home. Beautiful view and plenty of room for parking and outdoor activities. We had plenty of sleeping areas for six couples. The dinning room has a big table that allowed us all to gather for meals. The living room had ample seating for games and television. We couldn't have been any happier with our stay here.

Short mid-week stay
The Adobe house was AMAZING! We had lunch with some friends for my moms 70th birthday. They didn't forget anything. In fact, I forgot my crockpot. And they had one waiting for me! Perfect location.

It was good house. However, I didn't think there was a lot to do for teenagers.
It was a very nice house with many bathrooms. It had a great view. However, it did not have much to do for teenagers and there was no hiking trail around the house.

Beautiful home in a breathtaking setting.
Wonderful. The home is reality versatile and we were about to host comfortably all who can to visit. Older folks were comfortable and that is an accomplishment. Plenty of space and comfort in a beautiful serene setting. Pauma valley has Hawaii vibes. Book it!
