"We booked this hotel as on Google Maps it said it was pet friendly. On our booking, we made a note that we were bringing two dogs with us who were very well behaved. Check in was from 3-6pm. We arrived at 5:30pm to no one in reception but our keys were in the apartment. At around 7:30pm a man from reception came up to take our details. "The hotel is well located in the city but set apart by parks, giving it a good combination of urban connectedness and natural quiet. The rooms are well appointed, updated while maintaining the original style. The facilities were all well maintained. Particularly noteworthy were the bell staff and bar staff, all of whom were consistently friendly and helpful. For a visit to the island that I intended not solely be a beach vacation, Hotel Santa Catalina offered a great home base, providing an opportunity to see the everyday aspects of Gran Canaria while enabling me to venture to other parts of the island. Its facilities offered a comfortable escape after tiring days of farther flung exploration, without any feeling of "missing something" elsewhere. I did come to appreciate the distance from other tourist attractions on the island. This said, the diversity of the island's sights means that any one location could be far from some aspect you might wish to visit. In this context, SHC offered a great experience without having the trip defined as a beach stay."

"As a whole the place was amazing! Staff were helpful n friendly, activities for children and a very beautiful place all round. The only thing I'd say was the dinner wasn't nice at all, breakfast was great and food by the pool restaurant at lunch was very nice but the dinner was very disappointing. I'd definitely recommend people/families to come to this resort as we really had a great time, close to Aqualand and other attractions. Location was perfect. I'd like to thank the staff that helped us along the way and Kim at the reception desk. Will definitely be back!!! Gracias!!"

"Buen Family Resort, aunque era Solo Travel. Los cuartos limpios todos los días excelente servicio. Desde la entrada hasta la salida el equipo de trabajo muy amable, atento y profesional. Buen buffet desde desayuno hasta cena.. lo recomiendo para Familias no para Solo Travel. Lo unico que no me gustó fue que el Resort no cambia USA dollars porque no tienen muchos visitantes de USA .lo veo injusto todo cliente debería ser tratado igual no importa de donde venga. Tuve ir en un taxi hacia Puerto Rico Mall para poder cambiar."

"We loved our stay here! Had a fantastic week. The swimming pools were amazing. The evening entertainment was also good fun! My boys were fascinated with all of the stunning fruit trees growing on the property as well! So lush and beautiful. The location was fantastic. Only a short walk to the town/port, as well as a short drive to other beautiful parts of the island such as Maspalomas sand dunes, los azulejos de Veneguera, Amadores beach etc. Would highly recommend this as a great hotel for families especially."
