Excellent location, Diane was exceptional with communication and checking in on us to make sure we arrived OK, needed anything etc.. House was as described, if you are looking for a quiet location with perfect beach access, shells, Shark teeth and not too many people this is your perfect vacation.
We loved this property and the peacefulness of this island. The beautiful beach and shells made this the perfect getaway. The property had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable.
The house was beautiful. It was a great location and could see the beach from the screened in porch. Very easy walk to beach. House comes with great beach supplies so if flying it’s nice to still have chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, ect provided. Owner is wonderful and provides and abundance of information on the house, island, services, and surrounding area. Our family had a wonderful time.
We enjoyed our stay! We most enjoyed relaxing on an empty beach, hanging out on the screened in porch, and exploring the island on the golf cart. This is our second stay at this property and I would recommend it.
Another family island vacation in the books, we have stayed at some great places on Palm island and this did not disappoint!!! Easy checkin, right across from the beach path, amazing views from the front and back deck!!
Great location. Dog friendly. Easy stroll to the beach. Nice screened porch. Lots of room inside for nighttime board games and watching movies together.
The name says it all. Once you step foot inside this rental all your cares disappear. All the conveniences of home but but an incredible island beach footsteps away. Excellent communication with owner who provides you with great info to make your trip all it can be.
This is our second stay on Don Pedro Island. We love the quiet beach. Our place was a short walk to the beach and when we were not at the beach we still could enjoy a great view. Communication was amazing. Would stay again!!!
Great house with everything you could need for a beach vacation. Very short walk to the beach. Enjoyed evening rides in the golf cart. Dockage for our boat was a plus and host gave detailed instructions how to navigate the canals to the house. Definitely plan on renting again
Everything was as described and the gulf view is wonderful. Beach is literally steps away. The bed we used was comfy and showers were hot with strong pressure. Kitchen is well equipped with both a keurig and coffee maker. Diane is a good communicator - answered questions promptly and an excellent host. We rented the brand new golf cart and enjoyed cruising around the island and up to the resort restaurant. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
The property was as advertised. It was clean, roomy, well appointed, and in a nice location. Owner was easy to communicate with, and always available. An important reminder is the home requires a car ferry ride to access,
it was $55/RT. We never left the island, so not an issue.
The property is very clean and as described. The dock is new, the home is very well done and completely updated. We stayed with 4 children and a dog and could not have been more comfortable. Diane was the best from check-in to check-out. Walk to the beach or sit in the hammock on the back porch. Palm Island is always relaxing and enough to do to never be bored.
Island Time was wonderful. The house was perfectly located, with all the things needed for a beach vacation. Beach towels, beach chairs, kayaks, paddle board, dock, and places to hang out for the whole family. TVs in all bedrooms and wifi that works for all. Well equipped kitchen, fridge with working ice maker, a great charcoal grill, it was all there, including a golf cart for rent. I would definitely re-book at Island Time.
We had a wonderful week at this house and would definitely stay at one of this host’s properties again. We were not aware that the pool and tennis courts were unavailable when we booked (due to last fall’s hurricane damage) but the listing has since been corrected and it did not negativity affect our stay. The only downside for some might be the current state of recovery with piles of sand, some scattered debris, and lots of construction crews. We were not bothered by any of this and enjoyed watching this cute island rebuild while we were there.
Could not more highly recommend this home. From making reservation to check out, everything went so smoothly. The home was beautiful and well furnished. Room d for everyone to spread out. The setting on the lagoon was perfect to watch the sunrises. Diane was so responsive to emails and texts. Thank you for a wonderful, much needed return to my favorite escape island.
As a family of 6 we had plenty of room and loved our stay. Diane(owner) is super responsive, has thought out all the details for you, the property is as described and well kept and had all the newer and creature comforts of home. We had tons of fun on the kayak, paddle boards, lounging in the hammock, and shark tooth hunting on the beach.
All the little things(too many to list) made this one of our best VRBO stays. Tip; Rent the golf cart. At first we didn't think we would use it as much, but it was awesome to have.
We had a great time! The accommodations were perfect for my family of 5, and the host was outstanding. She catered to every possible need. Her communication was really, really great. I admit I dropped a ball in communication early on, but she stayed with me. She was totally cool and understanding. Also, the house was exceptionally clean, and well-stocked with things to do.
1st time staying at the island and we will be back. As a vacation rental homeowner myself I can highly recommend Diane and this property. The house is great, set up for just what you will need. Diane is a thorough and interactive host. Being able to bring our dog was a win win for the family for our vacation.
Weather didn’t cooperate for boating but the quiet beach and island time was just what we all needed. Loved the ferry - it kinda adds to the disconnect and forces you to relax. Hearing the waves from the front porch with coffee will be what I miss tomorrow morning now that I am back at home.
We had a great time using the kayaks, golf cart and completely deserted beach! The owner was one of the most available and responsive we’ve ever dealt with. The condo was well furnished and outfitted with all the beach stuff you could possibly want (toys, chairs, cooler, etc).
Other necessary items (TP & soap) were also provided. PLEASE bring in ANYTHING else you might want for cooking along with plenty of bug spray as the owner is very clear that only essentials are provided (bring oil if needed for recipes, extra TP if you tend to use a lot, body wash, shampoo, etc…). We got absolutely eaten by bugs and were grateful for bug spray.
The location and variety of fun activities at the doorstep were wonderful!
The island is a wonderful slice of heaven. We've been a few times over the past 20+ years. This was our first time renting a house on the lagoon. It was a nice location. The water toys and an onsite golf cart available (to rent) at the house were an attractive feature. Plenty of beach chairs and toys (if you have kids) There were a couple of oversites by the cleaning service that were addressed with the owner and resolved. Nice appliances. Having an ice maker was great. The kitchen is setup enough of things for making meals. Just remember you need to bring EVERYTHING ELSE, foodwise, right down to the spices. The sound proofing between the two bedrooms we used (1 up, 1 down) was bad. You can hear everything. Bring earplugs.
Have fun treasure hunting for the perfect shells and sharks teeth, as well as gopher tortoises around the island!!
So I may not have understood that I was booking a house on an island when I first did it, but I wouldn’t change it for anything! It’s a $55 round-trip ride to get over to the house, but it’s worth every penny!! We landed in Sarasota Bradenton, stopped and got groceries on the way to the house, took the ferry over and didn’t leave for days. The beach is completely private, because it’s on an island. The house is absolutely gorgeous and fit our family of six with room to spare. The teenagers loved all of the space and being able to walk to the pool and the beach, the little kids loved how warm the pool was and searching for shells. We were one of just a few families on the beach and it was so relaxing and peaceful. The house has everything you would need from all of the dishes to a washer and dryer to beach towels to beach toys and extra bedding. There wasn’t anything that we lacked while we were there , every little detail is covered and it’s just perfect! Would recommend this to couples or larger families. The lower level was also a great time as the kids walked out on the dock while my husband grilled, and we laid in the hammock.
The host was immediately responsive and so incredibly kind. I would recommend a golf cart rental as that added a ton of extra fun together. We will be back!!
This was the ideal house in which to host our Thanksgiving dinner for 12! We had two houses for sleeping but our Thanksgiving gathering was held in this house.
Not many rentals this size could have provided the comfortable seating that this one does. It was awesome for dining and conversation and watching a game together.
The oven was immaculate and served us well for re-heating the foods we prepared at home. We really appreciated that. The large counter made a lovely buffet space. All appliances were high end and like new.
There was comfortable seating and living space for everyone- both indoors and out. All seating everywhere was very good quality.
We all enjoyed the porch swing and hammock with views of the canal too!
Our family enjoyed kayaking out back in the canal with the kayaks provided and out front they enjoyed walks along the beach.
It was a little too chilly to consider swimming. But the outdoor shower and foot wash would certainly serve guests very well on summer days.
We noticed there were fishing poles, beach toys, life jackets and more!
We would suggest bringing your own beach towels so you don’t have to worry about losing the ones provided or washing them before you depart.
All in all- we had a wonderful time in this sweet duplex.
It is a perfect house for a single family to spend a vacation!
