"I stayed at Nakanku Lodge from mid January to mid February 2024 accompanied by my little Maltese dog, Lulu. Everything was wonderful! The tropical garden setting was beautiful. I loved the pool and easy proximity to beaches. The outdoor kitchen was so fun as it generated opportunities for community and conversations with other guests. Gary was a super host! "Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax."

"We loved our stay at The Palms! Overall, the hotel is very cute and clean. We really appreciated that the cleaning staff tidied our room for us everyday. The pool area was amazing and the location of the hotel could not be beat - just a 2 minute walk from the beach! We would definitely stay here again. My two recommendations for the room was that the walls could use some painting, there were some scuff marks. The room could also use more hooks, shelves, racks, and areas to hang and store items. Overall, very happy with the stay!"

If we are back in the area again, we would stay there in a heartbeat. This is truly a hidden gem."

The views were absolutely breathtaking, and watching the sun go down over the ocean from the hotel was one of the most memorable parts of our trip. What really stood out, though, was the customer service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Every little detail seemed thoughtfully taken care of. Between the spectacular location, incredible views, beautiful room, private pool, and outstanding hospitality, this was easily one of the most memorable hotel stays we’ve had. "What a great trip or group of 5 families (9 adults, 9 teens) had in this property! Each of the bungalows was identical with a large deck, a small kitchen area, two spacious bedrooms and two expansive bathrooms. The AC in the bedrooms was perfect. We opted to have Alicria cook our dinners and some breakfasts for us and they were outstanding. She hit the quantities of everything spot on, and accommodated our mix of meat eaters and vegetarians perfectly. Sher, the concierge took care of finding us the best activities and vendors. We had surf lessons, an estuary tour, daily yoga and a sunset tour. All of the providers she worked with were fantastic. The pool was cleaned daily and started a wonderful temperature even though it was so hot outside. Manfred, the owner was responsive when we requested some fans for the shelter above the communal kitchen. Our group could not have been happier with this rental--the perfect blend of private and public space, great food at great prices, and beachfront on a sandy, deserted, beautiful beach with warm swimmable water. What more could you want?"
