“My wife and I spent just two days in Plovdiv in late June, and were very pleased we chose the Hotel Evmolpia. Victoria was very helpful and friendly at check-in, and we were delighted with our large room. The hotel is in an excellent location in the Old Town, and very quiet. The breakfast was satisfying, and we enjoyed the generous cheese and wine on offer in the evening. All in all: highly recommended.”

“Tired rooms, staff not particularly enthusiastic or communicative, slow to respond to requests for basics like towels and toilet paper, most of the focus on the glitzy casino attached, and bedbugs. This wouldn't pass inspection as a three-star in most Western countries. On the plus side, the breakfast was well done, there's a good restaurant next door (Happy) with contrastingly great service (so it is possible), and it's a short walk into the town centre and other attractions.”
