Home to the 115' tall Lighthouse Tower, 1896 Fog Signal Building Museum and Light Station Store and our 7 vacation cottages and studios. Surrounded on 3 sides by the Pacific Ocean and on the 4th by the Point Arena-Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument, the Light Station offers the most unique lodging option on the Mendocino Coast. Watch for migrating gray and humpback whales, enjoy the resident harbor seals bobbing in the water, watch the various seabirds fly by and marvel at the ever changing skies, waves and views. Stay with us and you will get unlimited access to the Indoor and Outdoor Museums and Tower Tours up the tallest Lighthouse on the Pacific Coast. Make us your base of operations for exploring the many fascinating and unique sites nearby. Our newest vacation cottage, the Bookkeeper's Room, is a beautifully finished and furnished studio perfect for that romantic getaway. In its standard configuration guests will enjoy a memory foam King size bed with views of the Lighthouse Tower and Fog Signal Building from the front door and bedroom windows. It can also be configured to accommodate Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guests. The tastefully decorated unit provides guests with a mini-fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker and 55" flat screen TV with DishTV service. Enjoy the warmth of the radiant heat flooring in the bedroom and bathroom and the beautifully tiled bathroom with large roll in shower. This unit is also pet friendly for up to 2 pets (pet fee of $25 per pet per stay). Come try out our newest studio! Please let us know if you are an ADA guest when you make your reservation so that we can configure the room to accommodate you. All of our rentals include unlimited access to our 23 acre Outdoor Museum. Visit our Light Station Store and Indoor Museum, housed in the historic 1896 Fog Signal Building and containing the original 1st Order Fresnel lens from the 1908 Tower, anytime between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily (4:30 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day). Tours of the Lighthouse Tower can be arranged by checking with the Light Station Store Associate at the store counter. Tower Tours are conducted around every 20 minutes with the first Tour at 10:15 a.m. and the last around 4 p.m. Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, 3 p.m. the rest of the year.
