"Surprising gem. Renovated rooms for sure. They have spent a lot of money to upgrade this place. We upgraded to an indoor room vs a room with an exterior door. The staff here are very friendly! "

"The breakfast wasn’t even close to what was advertised online, very misleading. You had to knock and knock on the office door to ask, and then it was just continental style. The carpet was dirty, and the bottom of the tub got slippery after you turned the shower on. The bathroom door had been repaired by putting screws all around the edges, and it was warped so that it barely closed. "

"Very friendly staff. It was so easy to get to right off the interstate. It was clean and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was okay, but my expectations weren’t high for a continental breakfast. My husband and child were disappointed in the breakfast but we were all happy with the stay. Would stay again. "

"Hometown Hideaway is a wonderful place to stay. Very warm, inviting and well maintained. We felt at home right away. Our host was very responsive and answered all our questions. We spent the majority of our time using the three outside living places which made our time there relaxing and enjoyable. The pool area is spectacular. We only wish the weather had been a little nicer so we could have used that area more. The pond brings in geese, ducks and other waterfowl. We were even visited by a couple of chickens! If you are looking for a place that is private and just a short distance from Gulfport, this is an excellent option. We highly recommend Hometown Hideaway. "

"The dishwasher was full of dishes from previous guest stay. The dishes were not clean and wine glasses were put in dishwasher on their side. Water settled in glasses and was very disgusting. Dishes in cabinet had stuck on food too. We hand wash everything before we used. Kitchen utensils were sparse and no paper towels. Thank goodness we brought some. Dishwasher would drop large rust particles when door opened and closed. Kids wanted to sleep on air mattress provided in house. After unfolding and starting to inflate, we saw dried blood all over. DID NOT USE! The chairs in dinning room were very shaky and unstable. One chair leg was so loose we didn’t use in fear it would collapse. The outdoor area was wonderful and the fishing pier was a big hit. Caught and released a few small fish and one large bass. We would stay again only if we would be guaranteed not to experience any of the issues listed. "
