Based on what was said they provided:
Toiletries- none, a bar of pink soap
Breakfast- Eggs and toast. If you want something else (from the "restaurant") you have to order it the night before. No one informed us of this.
Restaurant on premises- No, they will only provide you food from the restaurant if you order it one day prior & again, no one informs you of this. It's one choice and if you didn't order a day ahead they will not provide you the meal even though you are a paying customer.
Room DOES have microwave, but no cups provided to make tea, which is also not provided. Nor was a cup provided for brushing teeth in bathroom.
Hospitality is definately a zero. Ammenities, zero.
No blankets are provided on the bed, sheets only. Ceiling fan and lights did not work. Bedside light did not work. Room, pillows and sheets MUSTY. I would have turned around upon arrival but no refund would have been provided.
Wifi works (somewhat) at the pool. You cannot check out, order coffee, get inside lobby before 8am. No one is there.
Room had a pretty view of the river.

Loved the atmosphere and view of the river! The breakfast was also pretty good.
We had a wonderful stay at the Rio Vista. The area is the most beautiful part of Jamaica and the views at the hotel, and especially the breakfast terrace, are absolutely breathtaking. The gardens are lush with gorgeous plants and flowers and we saw fireflies and hummingbirds and heard the tree frogs on an evening. Our 2 bed villa suited us as a family of 4 perfectly. It was well proportioned and had a characterful and homely charm that made us feel like you were staying with family. The free breakfast that they call continental was not what we understand as a continental breakfast in the UK. It was much much better. Every morning we had beautiful local eggs cooked to our liking with toast and tomato. Plus some local plantain or banana or regional festival cooked on the side. Also first there were local fruits or homemade porridge. All served on the amazing terrace overlooking the mountains and Rio Grande. The waitress in the morning was really lovely and the ladies on the reception desk were super friendly and so helpful. One even lent us her own phone when our mobiles wouldn't work. They couldn't have been nicer. The pool was lovely. Free parking and lovely views from all balconies. We would return for certain. Air con in all bedrooms and very comfy beds. Some bits of villa could maybe do with an update and the shower was a bit quirky. But we loved it all. Thank you for a perfect few days exploring a wonderful side of the island with the friendliest people in Jamaica!
the hotel is careless furnished and not
really clean.
the shower water pressure is so low - horrible to wash.
the breakfast is also not really good and you need a loooong time.
the hotel is far away from the city and there is also no beautiful beach to swim.
the rio grande is in the near and you can do a rafting tour - that’s the only positive thing.
I would never recommend this hotel.
I like the view of the Rio Grande, the atmosphere was very relaxing. The rooms were quaint and could do with a bit of an upgrade. The cost fit the standard of the facilities. In comparison to other properties of the the same cost. I did not do much sightseeing due to work, but from previous visits the is much to do in the area, one has to make the right connections.
Very helpful staff that provided us with useful information about the area.

River View Hotel
Office person should be customer friendly and be more attentive. Pool needs upgrading and the beautiful natural landscape could use a little more care. Overall the location made up for it. Beautiful and fantastic view of the river, and the food was good.
Hotel staff was excellent. Room was clean and neat. Room overlooked the sea and was surrounded by lush vegetation.
We ordered a Jamaican breakfast and it was to die for. Will stay again just for the breakfast.
first night we had a ton of ants in our room and they were reluctant to give us another room when there was lots of vacancy. Even by Jamaican standards this was below par. staff were nice though 2/5
The highlight was being served breakfast with a fantastic view of the Rio Grande. The pool and garden are also beautiful features, as well as accommodating guest services. Book the honeymoon suite, it's stunning. Only drawback in our standard suite were small inconveniences like no hand hook for shower, chips in bathroom floor and peeling paint in ceilings. The view of the pool and river made up for it though, Try it for a cosy vacation.
The hotel (this would be called a bed and breakfast in North America) manager or owner was extremely friendly when we checked in so I had high hopes for the place but they were definitely not met. Her friendliness and the view are about the only things that the hotel has going for it. The continental breakfast is one fried egg, a couple of fried plantain slices and some toast, tang, and instant coffee with creamer and you have to sit and wait for it with everything coming at once (i.e. you can't get your instant coffee before your breakfast comes, which is terrible for a coffee person like me). We were there for four nights and after the housekeeper came twice when we weren't ready for her, she never bothered to come back so the room was never cleaned the whole time we were there. The shower had incredibly poor water pressure (a problem in all of Jamaica I know, but particularly bad here) and on the rare occasion that you could get hot water, that was all that you could get. It is also quite a ways outside of Port Antonio and the roads are terrible in this part of the country. The view is pretty spectacular though. If the owner or manager could train her staff a little better that would be good. The resident cat is quite friendly too!
