This 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom house sits on a deep-water canal that connects with the Weeki Wachee river and has access to the Gulf of Mexico. There are a total of 6 kayaks w/ paddles and life jackets for guests to use. Pet friendly with a $75 fee per dog. Come and experience Weeki Wachee with its unspoiled views and timeless backdrop for a one-of-a-kind vacation. An affordable getaway to enjoy all of Weeki Wachee and close enough to so many other fabulous attractions that Florida has to offer. LIVING ROOM The house has an open floor plan with a spacious living room with 2 comfortable couches, smart T.V., and a computer workstation with high-speed WI-FI available to connect your devices to the internet. KITCHEN/DINING ROOM The kitchen and inside dining area are next to the living room. The kitchen has all new basic appliances to include Keurig pod/pot coffee maker, tea kettle, blender, skillet, crockpot, large boiling pot, and toaster oven. Other basic amenities include paper towels, an assortment of pod coffees, and basic spices. The dining table sits 4-7\. BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS The Master bedroom has a king size bed with a master bath. The master bath has a shower, and a laundry room closet with a brand-new washer and dryer, and laundry detergent pods provided. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and is next to the common area bathroom that has a shower. Both bathrooms have a set of fresh towels. KAYAKS There are a total of 6 kayaks, paddles, and life vests; and one of the kayaks is a perfect size for younger/smaller people to try out on the water. OUTDOOR ENTERTAINING Enjoy gathering outside in the screened in patio room overlooking the water with a dining table that sits 4\. There is a gas grill for barbecuing and a firepit to gather around at night and share memories made from the day on the river while eating some yummy smores. There are 3 docks that can be used to spot manatees as they swim by or try your luck at fishing from. (Florida State Fishing License May Be Required.) RIVER ACTIVITIES Launch into the water right from the backyard, with only a 5–10-minute paddle to the Weeki Wachee river. The river is family-friendly, perfect for wildlife viewing, and boasts some of the most beautiful scenery of any Florida waterway. The spring water stays a constant 72 degrees year-round, so it feels cool in the hot summer months and warm on a chilly winter day. Paddlers can take a break along the river and go for a dip, and various parts of the riverbank offer good stopping points for a picnic lunch. If you are a water-loving outdoors enthusiast, this river is a must. If you aren’t, you will be after a day on this river! When you approach the Weeki Wachee River paddling from the house: Turn right onto the river to get to Rogers Park and the Upper Deck restaurant, a popular spot to grab a drink and bite to eat while enjoying an elevated view of the water. Or turn left to head towards the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park where you can see live mermaids perform. For anyone who prefers a guide; eco-tours are offered through the Weeki Wachee State Park and Boating in Florida. They will take tours upriver toward the headsprings while providing information about the surrounding flora and fauna, kayaking tips, and tips on river etiquette. ADDITIONAL ATTRACTIONS There are so many other amazing adventures that are just a hop, skip, and a jump from Weeki Wachee. Directly to the south about 50-60 miles is Tampa, Clearwater Beach, and St. Petersburg. Then to the east about 1.5 – 2 hours is Orlando and Cocoa Beach. Chris and Justine were great! The house had everything!!! I loved that they had cleaning supplies and soaps for the washer and dryer. We stayed over 10 days so it was really nice to have a mop and broom. We loved the bed in the master, and my husband now wants to buy that mattress haha. We fish quite a bit and just off the dock out back there were so many species. We caught largemouth bass, perch, sunnies, and a lot of mullet (which i smoked on the propane grill, which had plenty of propane and an extra full tank). (I left wood smoking chips there if anyone wants to give it a go) The ones we didnt catch but saw- i guess theres a local otter, which tried to steal our mullet on the stringer ha, snook- just cruised right in front of the dock and was easily 25", sheepshead which were in/around 7", turtles, and these really pretty green needlefish. If you're a bird watcher, you would love just sitting on the porch or docks. We even had some sort of vulture-i saw its claws haha trying to steal our bait. But seriously it was really nice sitting on the porch in the mornings and just listening to the symphony. Outstanding house, and fyi the temps went down to around 56F and the units they have worked great on heating the house/they also cool. The house was perfect for our family of 4 and the waterfront location was wonderful!! The really appreciated the use of kayaks and the canal was a short paddle to the river. The boys enjoyed fishing off of the dock and we used the grill and fire pit several times. The screened porch was also a very nice place to relax and enjoy the water views. It was nice to have a large TV and comfy couch to watch the bowl games (we have had rentals before that did not). The owners were very helpful before our stay and luckily we didn’t have any issues during our stay that needed assistance, but I’m sure they would have been responsive if we did! We only needed to supply the food! Our kids and grandchildren loved swimming. We even had a manatee come to our dock almost every day! It is by far the best property that we have stayed at. I have never seen Florida in that way. Now I understand what Old Florida means. Absolutely beautiful! We brought out boat and had no issues accessing the river and the gulf. Only reason for the 4 starts is the house needed some updating. Back door wouldn't shut and we were not able to lock up the place while gone, also the dock was not safe to use. The owner did inform us on this issue, however 2 days before our saty. The house is right on the river. I enjoyed sitting in the screened patio enjoying the view. The kids were able to launch the kayaks provided easily & the springs itself was just a short paddle. The layout was perfect, we had enough space that we weren't right on top of each other. I am a home cooker & appreciated all the kitchen equipment & dishware provided. Communication with the hosts was easy, quick, & pleasant. We will definitely be back.
