This hotel is in a great location right above the river near major sights. However, it’s in several buildings and it’s nearly impossible to navigate. We had to take two elevators and a ramp to our room. Lots of people were wandering around trying to get to and from breakfast. Signage is terrible . Lovely hotel but we were happy to leave after two nights.

Sliding door to bathroom was faulty and required significant strength to use. Bathroom interior design is so minimalist that there's nowhere to put your toiletries. These were nuisances but the unit was beautiful, breakfast was generous, and location perfect.

Staff were nice enough but not overly helpful. We actually had two separate bookings. First one was for 2 days and then we added another day. We asked what rates were available as they had a few empty rooms. We actually ended up booking through Expedia again because it was quite a bit less than what they offered at the front counter. There was nothing being offered to guests at check in - water or a complementary drink like most other 4 star hotels in Europe. There was a foul smell in the lobby during the three days. The hotel seems to be relying on people willing to accept less than other comparable hotels due to its proximity to the Douro River. Great location but otherwise it’s an average hotel.
