I want to start this review by saying that it is not my intention to trash this resort, but to simply warn others from booking their vacation here. For over 5 years, my family & I have stayed in a number of Riu resorts because of the exceptional service and amenities that we would receive. When booking our trip to Puerto Vallarta, the Palace & Vallarta were already booked, so we booked at the Jalisco. From the minute we pulled up, we knew that we had made a huge mistake. The resort is rundown, out dated, and dirty. Staff was not friendly and not attentive at all. In fact, we had to get up and get our own drinks at breakfast & lunch on the days that we ate there. The food was either undercooked or burned.
The pool was dirty & extremely over crowded with locals, so crowded that you could not get at the two bars that were open at the pool to get a drink. The adult only pool was full of kids on floats and jumping off the side of the pool with little to no respect of who they landed on or kicked. I could go on & on about that. The resort was very noisy, especially after the evening entertainment. And the "party" lasted into the early morning when we were trying to sleep.
Because we had stayed at so many other Riu resorts, we knew that we could visit other Riu's for lunch & to use their amenities, & that is exactly what we did for the remainder of our vacation. Much better experience.
In closing, do not book your vacation here, you will be disappointed too.
