My wife and I have stayed in Iberostar locations in Playa, Cozumel, Montego Bay and now in Punta Cana. We have recommended Iberostar to many of our friends. With that being said if we would have stayed at Punta Cana first we would have never and I mean never went back to an Iberostar and would never recommend to even my enemies. By far the worst trip I have ever had, and I can include combat missions in the middle east from my time in the United States Marine Corps. To keep it brief, staff was lazy and rude, food even in restaurants poor quality and often cold, lack of options in restaurants, had to clean tables multiple times to find a place to sit and eat because the staff were no where to be seen, had to self serve drinks multiple meals, even when asked by staff who never returned. Many food items not even labeled, equipment like coffee dispensers out of service or not stocked most of the week. Not once did I see or have any interaction with management. Had to keep drink orders simple at bars do to majority of the staff not being able to effectively communicate. Life guards often disappeared, I can go on and on with a ton of little things.

My first impression was of the garden and the spacious lobby. One area they need to improve is customer service, especially at the restaurant and bar by the beach, due to a lack of service and cleanliness.

Really good Spa please go for a massage, rooms very very clean and comfortable (great job housekeeping) entertainment team average, service in restaurant and buffet Server's are amazing they tried but just can keep up with the volume need a lot more people to help, having the F&B director cleaning tables NO a good look and the food it's ok if you're very hungry Plenty chairs at the pool and beach and I loved the amount of towels!!!! The room, hotel, swimming pool areas were really clean. The housekeeping made swan origami from towels and decorated them with flowers-very welcoming and memorable touch! Bathroom had very loose outlet falling out of its place. In general stuff was very friendly and pleasant. We stayed at the end of January- luckily, our beach area was free of seaweed while nearby resorts had quite noticeable seaweed. Beach service was very poor- for hours no one came to ask if we would line anything-really not a big deal for us as we just walked to get a drink if we had to. The young bartender at the area of drinks (not at members bar) in general area at the beach could have been more respectful to the guests. The food was not good compared to a few years ago. Breakfast was fine. For dinner: steaks grilled upfront of guests were really tough and for the fish there was salmon and tilapia; other dinner dishes just did not taste good.

This is my third visit to punta Cana and I don’t usually do reviews. my least favorite experience this far when we arrived the staff that checked us in told us it would be 40 minutes for our room to be ready me and my partner went and grabbed lunch and returned back to the front desk she had left and the person we spoke to told us another hour we asked for a room on the top floor and we get a room on the first floor upon arrival the room had an unpleasant odor and looked outdated so they brought us upstairs to the new room upon arrival the room floor was filled with water we tried to book the French restaurant and Mexican and it was booked throughout our stay the food was 6/10 and the bartenders next to the bar were rude the only positive feedback that I have is the beach was beautiful and the cleaners did a great job keeping the room clean and the servers at the restaurants and buffet would not recommend go where your money is valued

Very spacious resort, lots of amenities. Room key cards regularly deactivated, which is one of the reasons for the low rating. Whe showering the washroom gets soaked. Room was clean and spacious. The beach was nice and always enough sun loungers. Buffets were nice with a lot of variety. À la cartes were, just book early as th fill up quickly.
