“Efficient online check in process. Junior suite was immaculate and beautifully furnished. Super king bed plus double generous sofa bed were very comfortable & all made up and ready.
We all had an incredibly good nights sleep on both beds.
There was a vending machine for snacks and drinks (incl alcohol) for relaxing on the outside terrace.
Highly recommended.
The only thing lacking was milk for tea/coffee in the room but the staff gave us some from breakfast in the morning 😊”

However, there are two problems. First they advertise the rooms having air conditioning. Only SOME rooms have air conditioning. Others (the ones in the new wing, have a what they call "cooling system". It, supposedly, cools the room without an y cold air coming from a vent or a panel. Mine did not made any……

“The Hotel Appenzell is absolutely charming! The central location on the plaza is excellent, with a view to activities going on in town. It's conveniently right next to the Tourist Info center. The staff was cheerful and helpful. They responded promptly to requests, such as for a fan in our room.
The room was delightful. It was bigger than other rooms we stayed in in Switzerland, and it was decorated in a charming, white and gold french style, with crystal ceiling lights, and big windows……
