Good communication / preparation, so had no check-in issues. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It’s close enough to downtown to walk. Parking, however, was difficult, unless you pay, TV didn’t work. Bathroom shower is older and it is a basic hotel; but, overall it was a good experience and I would definitely stay here again.

Do yourself a favor and do not book this property. There are much better hotels in the area to choose from. This hotel markets itself falsely for the amenities it provides and the area it is in. It is run down, unstaffed, and the “limited parking” equates to 2 spots in front of the hotel. Otherwise you’re fending for yourself in hopefully finding street parking in the surrounding area - where every spot or parking lot is private. There is also a lot of construction around the hotel at the moment which compounds the parking issue and creates loud noise from the early hours of the morning. They’ve marketed themselves falsely - so be warned now and do not book this hotel. It is located about a 10 min drive from Rainbow Road to give an example of location. I’ve stayed in hostels that were better experiences.

Good hotel in a quiet area and very walkable to places nearby and also to downtown. There is Parking along the hotel and also on the opposite street. Cafes and restaurants nearby including one in the hotel and also a Bonus supermarket at walking distance. The rooms were a good size and the breakfast was plentiful and good. Having code access was very convenient. Definitely recommend.

I will be sending another email with pictures, videos and descriptions about this hotel. I will be insisting on a full refund. I never stay there at all. The hotel can verify through their systems. All is by code entry and all entries are recorded. Expedia should not have sanctioned this as a place to stay. They should have done their research.

So the lobby is under minor construction, but the room was very satisfactory. Also the surrounding area outside is under heavy construction. it's very close to downtown so lots of great restaurants close. there is a free breakfast that looks good but my airport bus arrived much before their opening time of 7am, so I was unable to try it.

Check in wasn't until 3, but all of the flights came in the morning, so we had to wait in their makeshift lobby for 5 hours (it was under construction). Three other families were in the same situation as us. There was no receptionist to help and we couldn't call the phone number because we are international and didn't have service. The cleaning lady was wonderful and fixed the coffee machine for us. Once we got into the room we were fine. The water pressure was great. It was very easy to walk everywhere from the hotel's central location. The TV wasn't hooked up but it didn't really matter as we mostly were walking the city. Overall, it was a fair hotel, I just wish they had given us a cheaper rate as things were under construction.

The property has been under construction since January. I booked in May for a stay in June and management never communicated the state of the hotel. There was trash in the luggage room along with several items of construction. Lobby was in complete disarray. No employees on staff, total mess

There is not even one small shelf in the shower; we could not find the spot to place a body gel or shampoo. The shampoo and conditioner were not provided. We paid for breakfast but had to call to get it. Our phone is not local, so we had to pay for this call. The hotel is under renovation, but nobody told us about it.

This property has loads of problems, especially for the rating reflected. Firstly, it begins with a difficult parking situation. Impossible to find any free parking, as that simply isn't available, the hotel is above a bunch of businesses who need the parking as well. Wind up having to park two blocks away. Then, getting in requires a passcode, except when there is a construction crew in the lobby. You can just walk right in -- no desk, so... hopefully you aren't a single woman? You will be woken up at 7:30 AM by the construction crew. Then, there's also construction across the street -- and, again, you will hear it. Further, the hotel is in the middle of being remodeled, so you likely won't get a room in the pictures, you will get something that hasn't been remodeled in 20 years and has peeling paint and dust everywhere, with a gross bathroom. Even the newly remodeled rooms are sparsely furnished -- no luggage stand, no iron or ironing board, no facial tissue. The TVs don't work in the newly remodeled rooms, no satellite or cable. Fits with the atmosphere. Honestly, if the brand, "ALVA," were just up front with having no TV, being likely to not have a nice room, and that you will be woken by construction before you booked, maybe it would be acceptable. But the bait and switch makes it all the worse.
