This was such a lovely little place in Riomaggiore! The accommodations were comfortable and Andrea went out of his way to welcome us and even carried our luggage up all the stairs for us! This whole area is VERY hilly and there are LOTS of steps everywhere, so be prepared for a great leg workout!

5TP was A++. Loris, our point of contact at the hotel was amazing. The service she provided was well above what you'd expect at the price point. From welcoming us, to her suggestions, to the check out process... flawless. She was clearly passionate about giving us the best experience. Info with directions for arrival were clear and simple. Some poor reviews mention the amount of walking and number of stairs to reach the location. Visiting Cinque Terre, one would hope there is already an...

Very rustic property, but clean, well stocked and had everything we needed. Lots of steps to facility, but there are steps everywhere! And, we were pleased that when we opened the door, no more steps!😀

Great location in Manarola - far enough up the street so that few tourists pass by. Balcony was wonderful in the mornings. Check-in/check-out was easy. Internet only worked upstairs, the only small TV was downstairs in the bedroom, and we really wished the bed was softer (hard compared to US rentals). After seeing all 5 towns, we would stay in Manarola again, and would rent Le Coste again.

Everything about Riomaggiore is on a hill. If you stay here, know that. There is a lot of climbing but I really liked our hotel and staff. Plus breakfast is included!

Amazing place and beautiful location but definitely a lot of stairs to reach it so be aware! But I would absolutely stay here again and the view was lovely!

The property was beautiful, it was the most amazing view and most comfortable stay we had in our trip to Italy. The walk to the hotel is worth it. Keep in mind that if you stay during Orange weather warning period all shops close so you will need to find food in another city. That said this place is still worth it !

What a lovely place to stay! Manarola is small and there weren't a lot of options as it really is a residential town. The owner met us when we got there and took us up to our newly renovated room. Our window overlooked the street on route to the water as well as the water. It was GREAT! We could see all the pastel buildings and the crystal blue water! Everything was new in the room and bathroom. Just know ahead of time that you must pay in cash- they don't take credit cards. There is an ATM in...

We had a fantastic stay. The location was perfect. The view was picturesque, and the breakfast was superb.
I was worried after I booked; I saw some bad reviews on this place that it was a scam. It is NOT a scam; you need to be smart and read your emails. Check-in is contactless, but it is all laid out in a welcome letter by email and worked flawlessly. The staff was super responsive to WhatsApp texts, and we had a fantastic trip.
I will definitely stay with them again. And encourage the same....

The hotel is a little far from the center but its location is beautiful! The staff are all friendly and helpful. They have a restaurant where we had dinner one night and the food was delicious! The only negative is the last bus leaving from the city to the hotel is at 8PM so we had to end our days a little early. Taxis are not available from Riomaggiore so you have to get one at the main village (La Spezia) if you are staying out past 8.

This place is all about the view. Stunning. But you will have to walk up a billion stairs (or a long, steep ramp) to get there. True for most places in Manarola, but could be hard for those with mobility issues. It was a nice touch they provided a light breakfast for the first morning. The lack of a/c was rough, despite the sea air. It was very humid. Ceiling fans did help some. The water pressure in the shower was the best in Italy. It was a bit pricey, but again it’s the location. Only real...

The best area to stay in Riomaggiore is the lower village, which offers the most convenient access to the harbor, train station, and main street.
The lower village is built along the main street, Via Colombo, which slopes down towards the small harbor. Here, you'll find most of Riomaggiore's restaurants, shops, and guesthouses. It's a compact area, making it easy to navigate on foot, and it provides direct access to the sea. This area is particularly well-suited for couples who want to be at the heart of the village's activity and close to transportation for exploring the other Cinque Terre towns.
For travelers looking for a quieter experience, the upper village provides a more residential feel with stunning views. This section of Riomaggiore is higher up the hillside, accessible via steep paths or a local bus. It offers a peaceful retreat while still being within walking distance (though uphill) of the lower village's amenities.

When is the best time to go to Riomaggiore?
The best time to visit Riomaggiore is during the shoulder seasons of April to May and September to October. These months offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and a more relaxed experience compared to the peak summer.
During April and May, the temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit (15-21 C). The spring wildflowers are in bloom, making the hiking trails particularly scenic. This period is ideal for couples who want to enjoy the coastal paths and explore the villages without the intense heat and large numbers of tourists. You'll find many local shops and restaurants open, but it won't feel overwhelmingly busy.
September and October also provide excellent conditions. The summer heat has subsided, with temperatures similar to spring, and the seawater is still warm enough for swimming until early October. This time of year is great for solo travelers looking for a comfortable and enjoyable trip.
