About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Romantic Stone Cottage with private woodfired hot tub, spa bathroom, yoga deck!

SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION FOR SINGLE HOUSEHOLDS (WALES/ENG) WILL BE ALLOWED FROM 12 APRIL.
MULTI-HOUSEHOLD BOOKINGS ARE PROPOSED FROM 3 MAY.

This is our romantic 2-level stone cottage with:-

Your exclusive wood fired hot tub with tranquil views
Luxury heated spa bathroom on the lower level with free-standing bath
Cute centrally heated living space and super comfy bed on the upper level
Covered outdoor lounge area with log burner and serene views
Your own BBQ area with outdoor table & firepit under the stars
Yoga/relaxation deck in beautiful open fields

...all with spectacular views.

This is definitely:
a special place for a romantic weekend away
a marvellous spot to chill out
a special treat if you are having an active weekend (lots of inspiring cycling and walking in the area, and of course the great North Wales action attractions like Zip World and Surf Snowdonia).

The luxurious spa bathroom on the lower level is an extra treat – stone walls, freestanding bath and even an open fire grate with lots of candles, very atmospheric!

There is no internal stairway between the upper and lower levels, but we supply bathrobes so you can comfortably wander the short path between the upper and lower levels your garden area.

And sitting under the stars in your own wood fired hot tub is not to be missed (for your use only!)... let the aroma of the burning wood carry you away to relaxation central! (Firewood for both the firepit and the hot tub is purchased on-site at a friendly rate; option to have tub pre-heated also).

The Bothy is set in the grounds of Cae Gwyn, a lovely Georgian country home. Included are: gazebo with panorama of the beautiful surrounding hills; picnic table to laze and have a glass of wine while you prep your delicious BBQ; cuddle up and watch movies (... or even stream to your ipad while you laze in the tub!); Kitchenette for cooking and late night hot chocolate! (mini fridge, hotplate, microwave, all the usual crockery and utensils).
Or visit some of our great local eateries, with our local pub (bespoke gins and craft beers just a walk across the fields) and North Wales' Best Country Pub & Restaurant 2018 just a few minutes drive away ( a favourite Pub/restaurant with fabulous multi level outdoor terraces and inspiring views into the Vale of Clwyd is even closer).

We are just 1 hours drive from Liverpool/Manchester and 30min from Chester... you'd never know it!

NB: As you might imagine, some IMPORTANT CHANGES have to occur, because COVID-19 remains prevalent in the UK.

Firstly, because Cae Gwyn is our family home, we have to consider the increased exposure to our family. In this regard, we are requesting guests to bring their own bed linen & towels:
• King sheets x1
• King duvet cover x1
• pillowcases x4
• towels

We will supply a (COVID appropriate) duvet inner and liner & comfy pillows x4. (Unfortunately robes & slippers will not be available at this time)

Secondly, we will be meeting new industry cleaning protocols to ensure you feel safe coming to a new environment. We will supply hand sanitiser, antibacterial spray and wipes for your use during your stay. Rubbish bins & bags are provided and guests are requested to take rubbish with them as they check-out.

Thirdly, there will be an optional no-contact check-in. Please note because of the extra requirements, earliest check in will therefore be 4pm.

We trust, in the current circumstances, you understand these changes, and we would like to offer you a complimentary bottle of Prosecco-on-ice in recognition of this.

Beware of extra costs
We stayed at the cottage last week and had a nice time, the cottage is lovely and the owners are very nice. However after paying a substantial amount for 4 nights I think that charging extra on hot tub maintenance, extra on gas for a bbq when there isnt any other option for cooking; as well as paying for initial set of logs is a rip off. With also trying to get an extra money if you dont turn up on time of arrival as there is no option for a contactless arrival is a bit cheeky. Other than this we enjoyed our stay even if we did have to bring our own towels and bedding due to covid.

Quality relaxing getaway
Where to start... ? Initially upon arrival we thought Argh! it's a little smaller than the pictures give the impression, but I can assure you that lovely things come in small packages and once settled we never noticed. Wonderful building and superbly finished, kudos to the designer/builder, and to the host/owner who couldn't be more helpful, warm and friendly. I had great fun in getting the hot tub going and wasting a few hours relaxing taking in the views, then chilling by the wood burner with a good book and even better wine. The downstairs bathroom is finished to a very high spec. a nice relaxing roll top bath but there is no shower head so be warned if you have lots of hair to wash. This doesn't detract from ambiance of a little slice of luxury. We had a superb stay, and would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a quiet romantic break and explore this lovely part of Wales. Thank you to our hosts.

Needed this!
If you need a break away from the everyday, you need to try this place. A comfortable, hilltop bothy, that affords views of Denbighshire’s rolling hills and farmland. We’ve never slept so well away from home! Utter bliss! The owners are very welcoming.

The Bothy
We really enjoyed our stay for 3 nights at this gorgeous location. The hosts of this property went out of their way to ensure we had the best getaway and were very helpful in giving ideas of things to do in the surrounding areas. The Bothy was really clean upon arrival and we were provided with the necessary essentials to keep it clean. The scenery was lovely to wake up to and was a good place to switch off and relax. The outdoor area is really cosy and the hot tub is a lovely touch. The cooking facilities were good and was lovely to be able to have a BBQ in the sunshine. There was plenty of wood for fires and for heating up the hot tub. Upon running low on wood we messaged the hosts and they dropped some more right round which was helpful. The bathroom was absolutely gorgeous, with plenty of space to relax. The communication leading up to and during the stay was really efficient and again they went out of their way to help and answer any questions especially with covid rules changing constantly. Overall it was a lovely stay and would definitely recommend for a couple's weekend away.

Rest and Relaxation.
Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Bothy. A wonderful little property with fantastic outside space. Although early April, we had fantastic weather and were able to relax in the wood fired hot tub and enjoy outside cooking. Evenings were cold, yet the best time to relax, under the stars in the hot tub. Thomas and Family live on site and are so very friendly and accommodating. I would wholeheartedly recommend staying at the Bothy, or the other cottages on site. Such a fabulous setting facilitated by a friendly, welcoming family. We hope to be back soon!!

My partner and I loved every second that we were there. We wanted to get away and spend some time together and this was perfect. The view was incredible and the cottage, so romantic. The owner was so kind to us too. This holiday will always hold a special place in our hearts.
