Out of all the hotels we stayed in on our silk road journey this property was the most disappointing.
Hotel Minor feels like a fairly new property and online the photographs show only the best rooms, however ours was a lot simpler, not what we really expected,in addition over the four nights we stayed the room was not once made up,only clean towels left on the bed for us to use!
Reception has no facilities for card or online payments so it is a cash only hotel, which we noticed caused some problems for guests staying there!
The roof terrace offers probably the best view of Registan square and is a good spot to have breakfast which is plentiful, however of an evening there is no option for relaxing on the roof terrace enjoying a cool drink overlooking Registan square as the hotel does not have a bar service, which I think they are missing a trick with there!
Close by there are restaurants ATM's etc along with a short walk to Registan, all other attractions are a short taxi ride away.
For us the property's price point is a bit high compared to other similar hotels we stayed in Uzbekistan,I can only assume the selling point is the location and views it offers,
Such a great hotel with a super staff, terrific breakfast, clean rooms, and a magnificent view of Registon. The check-in process was a bit confusing, as they need a payment in cash. However, we really loved our stay here and recommend this place. Great restaurants within walking distance as well.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The hotel has a lovely location with a top view over the Registan. I fear it is resting on its location laurels though. It feels tired and needs some polish.
The staff insisted their card machine wasn't working and required full payment in cash. I couldn't do it, and miraculously, the machine started working before check out. A professional modern hotel should do better.
GREAT location. Generally nice hotel; Amir at the front desk was great. Small hiccups occurred at check-in (the rooms we booked were not available). All sorted in the end, though it was cash only, which was a bit logistically unexpected.
Wonderful Stay at Hotel Minor Samarkand
Hello,
I recently stayed at Hotel Minor Samarkand and had a truly memorable experience, thanks in large part to the outstanding staff — especially Amir 1, Amir 2, and Amir 3. Their service was exceptional from the moment we arrived.
During our stay, I unfortunately lost my iPhone. The team immediately sprang into action, contacting the tourist police without delay. Thanks to their quick thinking and dedication, my phone was located and safely returned to the hotel. I am beyond grateful for their help — they truly went above and beyond.
The hotel itself was excellent: the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious with a great variety. They also recommended a local tour guide who turned out to be fantastic and really enhanced our experience of Samarkand.
Thank you so much to everyone at Hotel Minor for making our stay so smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended.
