The best thing about this property is the location as it’s only a short walk to the Alamo, Riverwalk, and Rivercenter mall. The immediate area around the hotel isn’t appealing, but the convenience of being close to things to do was very nice. The room itself was clean, and some of the staff was friendlier than others.
While I was happy with the convenience, I’ll opt to stay elsewhere if I return to San Antonio. As mentioned, it was close to things to do, but even the short walk from the Riverwalk to the hotel made me feel uncomfortable/unsafe, especially once it got dark.
There were a few things I didn’t enjoy about our stay. The restrooms on the first floor were filthy, and the lock on the bathroom door in our room was broken (I was sharing a room with family). The most concerning thing for me was the lack of professionalism from one of the valet drivers. Sexist remarks were made our first day there, and the next day, an inappropriate joke about male body parts was shared; this is all from the same attendant/driver. I can appreciate a joke at the right place/time with the right people, but this was inappropriate. Thankfully, there were two other outstanding valet drivers who helped us at different times, and I wish we dealt exclusively with them.
A small note: The hotel lists the daily valet fee as $32. However, I was told in person that it’s actually $33. For a three-night stay, I paid $103.92, so $34.64/night plus tips.
