Hotel Mama Cuchara is a lovely boutique hotel with a great location. The breakfast is delicious and the team took great care of us. We loved our stay there and would absolutely come back and stay again next time we are in Quito.

Hotel was like a jig saw puzzle with lots of stairways and areas. Still had construction going on. Rooms were very nice but no privacy unless you close your curtains. Room safes did not work in either of our rooms. You cannot flush toilet paper due to old pipes. Area did not feel very safe but we did not need to leave the hotel without a guide since the dining in the hotel was great. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

IT'S A HOSTAL.
I know I know, its listed as a hotel but, it's indeed a hostel. No TVs, no AC, no dressers to put your clothes away. Now...LOCATION is a 10, safety walk to restaurants, bars and the lively downtown area. STAFF 10. Front desk staff were patient and accommodating to the best of their ability. FOOD... 10. No need to go out (of this hostel) for a delicious, made to order Ecuadorian breakfast. The grounds are very pretty and the waterfall view is incredible. I'd recommend this HOSTEL to anyone with a backpack and just needs a bed to sleep.
