Sarasota Jungle Gardens is a large botanical park, rich with exotic and native jungle plants and animals. Explore the lush, tropical jungle and get close to over 150 different types of animals including birds, reptiles and primates. Learn about jungle plants native to Florida as well as exotic flora from around the world as you explore the 10-acre (4-hectare) gardens.

Brightly colored macaws, impudent parrots, different species of reptiles and playful lemurs are just some of the tropical animals that call this park home. Catch one of the informative presentations and learn about the flora and fauna with the helpful Sarasota Jungle Gardens team. Kids will love holding and touching different animals and getting a photo with a tropical parrot. Learn about scaly snakes and alligators and see mischievous lemurs swinging through the trees.

Visit the Sarasota Jungle Gardens’ most popular attraction, a flock of Floridian pink flamingos. Come face to face with the friendly long-legged birds in their natural habitat and feed them from the palm of your hand.

Discover the gardens at your own pace along the botanical trails that wind around different habitats and waterways. Different species of plants are signposted with informative displays. Relax on a park bench under the shady canopy. Stop by the Flamingo Café for snacks and refreshments. Pick up a souvenir from the gift shop and see jungle-themed murals painted by local artists. Sarasota Jungle Gardens has been in operation since 1939. The facility is open seven days a week and is located on the northern end of downtown Sarasota, near the bay. The admission price includes special animal shows. There is a reduced fee for children. Arrive before noon to attend all the daily presentations. Parking is available on site for no extra cost.
