Overall hotel was clean but needs updating, bit of TLC. Room was clean, had to ask for bin to be emptied but wasn't done, bit short staffed but the ones that were on duty were good and helpful, we had to pay for breakfast, which was not a problem considering the cost of the accommodation, really good choice of breakfast and well priced, parking was a bit hit and miss, disc parking which was fine providing there was a space available. Overall a good stay I don't expect a 5* hotel at 2* prices.

in the middle of renovation i think as scaffolding outside but no work started early which is good. very quiet area ten minutes walk from town centre and 25 from beach so ideal location. stayed before and qill again great price also

Nice hotel but in need of t l v lovely thick bath towels and the breakfast is fabulous all in all for that I paid for the hotel I can't complain about the hotel I would come back but to be honest it's only because of the price and lastly the house keeper could visit more often

Don't pass this by

Typical seaside old style hotel, don't let first impressions put you off. Really nice and friendly receptionist, hotel bar/restaurant areat and a quiet room absolutely lovely. The rooms are cosy, if you are looking for big rooms, look somewhere else. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and tidy.

As expected

Stayed for the purpose of a motor scooter rally. Food was good and staff were friendly. Some improvements were being carried out but we remained unaffected. Room was more than adequate for it's purpose. Not a particularly expensive stay and you get what you pay for.

For a 3 star hotel I find Rivelyn excellent. It is always clean, the staff are helpful and friendly and beds are comfortable and the breakfast well cooked. It is located within a 2 minute walk to beautiful sea views from the Esplanade, a 5 minute walk of local shops and a 10 minute or less walk to the town centre, restaurants, cafes and the theatre, and also the beach.

Some areas could do with a little TLC (ie paint finishes and stains) but beyond that, it was spotless. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food was great and good prices. The hotel was quiet, even with a bar downstairs. I stayed with my granddaughter on the 3rd floor. Twin room small but adequate. Easy walk to train station and down to South Bay. We will be going again!

Enjoyed our stay, pet friendly in most rooms which was a bonus for us because our dog travelled with us. Staff pleasant and friendly. Unsure about the food because didnt eat at the hotel, had a drink in the bar which was pleasant. They are doing work to the hotel so scaffolding to front of building. Net curtains required to the windows at front because no privacy due to the flats across the road and can see into your room. Fish and chips from the life boat fish shop was amazing. We managed to park outside front of hotel and bought a permit for£2.50 from hotel which was good value and lasted 2 days. A little noise from pub across road on the saturday night but didnt put us off. We will visit the hotel again and was a reasonable price.
