“We had a lovely short stay at Macbeth’s Hillock. The cottage was clean, cosy and comfortable, with everything we needed. We mainly stayed there overnight while travelling, but I also cooked dinner there, which worked very well. The location is peaceful, close to local sights, and right next to a farm with beautiful sheep, which made the stay feel even more charming. A very pleasant place for our short stay.”

“This stay was awesome! The property is so well maintained and beautifully decorated with a fully equipped kitchen. All the outlets are labelled which was a big help in turning things on/off. Our hosts had many useful resources for us to look through to sightsee in the area - Inverness and Black Isle. You will not be disappointed!! Thank you so much!”

“The colour scheme is a bit of a shock at first but it does grow on you. The kitchen is well appointed but unfortunately no microwave. Because the kitchen/dining area/ lounge are all in one room it is not that easy to relax. The bedroom is up a steep set of stairs and my husband who is quite tall , did have to be extra vigilant getting out of bed to stop himself banging his head on the roof! The bed was very comfortable. A nice cottage .”

“Overall we had a good, comfortable stay. The lodge felt clean ( although a couple of towels and the bedding in the main bedroom smelt mildly of damp). The kitchen was well equipped and the shower was lovely and strong. We dropped a star because of inaccurate listing which said that WiFi was included. Just before arrival, we were sent a welcome document that stated that the WiFi was broken and was no longer available, however when we arrived, wifi popped up. When we asked for the password we……

“Cute little shepherds hut, very thoughtfully laid out so I had plenty of facilities, plus room under the bed to store own things so wasn’t tripping over my bags and the dog bed all the time. Lovely Mountain View through the patio doors and window next to the bed. Beautiful garden for the dog to sniff around after a tiring day climbing hills to the Fyrish Monument and running through the Dornoch Bay sand dunes.
