Scottish Highlands Ski Vacations

Stayed here for a night before the flight back home. It was sufficient. The outside of the property is beautiful, but the inside needs some updating and maintenance. Breakfast was just alright. It is close to the airport, which is convenient. The place is clean, but looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1980's and some parts are a little rough like the carpet and dining hall roof, etc. The staff was friendly and was perfectly fine for a short stay.

Staff was very friendly at check- in and during dinner. Property was beautiful but the room and the bed linen smelled like smoke. Made it unpleasant to sleep.

The Loch Ness Country Hotel was lovely. Our room was quite large, with beautiful views of the gorgeous hotel grounds. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a nice restaurant at the hotel, which is helpful as the hotel is about four miles from the city of Inverness. The only "downside" to staying here is that distance, as you cannot walk out the door and explore the city, but if you want a lovely, relaxing place to stay, you cannot do better!

Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and nowhere near the standard advertised. The first room we were given had a window that wouldn’t close, a stained blanket, and a dirty floor. After reporting this, we were moved to another floor, but the corridors smelled strongly of cigarettes. The second room had a nicer layout, but it still hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. A member of reception had to clean it themselves due to a shortage of housekeeping staff. The bathroom also smelled strongly of damp. Across our four‑night stay, the room was cleaned once, despite the hotel’s policy stating it should be cleaned every two days. The floor was never cleaned. Breakfast was okay, but the cleanliness of the plates and cups was questionable. A particularly concerning moment occurred when a member of housekeeping, who was drinking in the bar connected to the hotel, approached us, asked if we liked the room, and said: “Be honest, you can tell me if it’s sht.”* They then asked for our room number. This was completely inappropriate and made us feel unsafe for the rest of the stay. For the price paid (around £700 total for four nights), and based on the reviews shown beforehand, we expected far more. The location is good and the reception staff were pleasant, but the hotel is outdated and the cleanliness standards urgently need improvement. We will not be staying here again.
