This is an old train station so the building and the lobby are quite impressive. The staff upon arrival where really nice and welcoming. Unfortunately the room was not to the standard of cleanliness. Thankfully we were there only 1 night so it wasn’t too bad.

Staff was very congenial. We were welcomed graciously. The hotel lobby and atrium are amazing, marbled and sunlight streaming. Restaurant food was average, but service was very good. Rooms were above average! Beds are very comfortable and our room had fantastic water pressure in the shower! Trains passed by our room window a few times, and we loved it! We would stay there again.

Loved the old train station! The convenience of the two restaurants in the lobby was great after a long day at Poconos raceway. Food was great in both. The room was clean, hotel was clean. Staff was courteous and friendly. Cons- only one elevator was working, not too bad, never had to take the stairs. Our TV’s cable wire was bent to a point of half the channels coming in bad. Again, not a huge deal, we didn’t watch much. Overall 5 stars. Will stay again when we visit the area.

Room was somewhat clean. The bathroom smelled. The lobby and hotel itself was absolutely stunning. Restaurants in the hotel are mediocre. Staff was friendly. And area around the hotel is great to walk to downtown Scranton and restaurants in the area. Parking was okay too.

The hotel is beautiful on the inside - it is an old train station. The staff were friendly and helpful at the front desk, but we didn't see very much staff. We did have breakfast in the hotel and although a bit pricey, the food was good and the portions were generous. The room was adequate but nothing special. The bathroom was clean, but very small. Although not excessive, we could hear the people in the adjoining room. The one issue we did have was having to park around the back of the hotel, which was pretty secluded, and going through a back door that was completely unlocked and unattended. This seems like it could be a safety issue. We returned at night and had to park in the back because there were no spots in the front. It was a little off putting. Overall, for the money (we stayed Sunday night to Tuesday morning), it was fair. We would likely stay here again (it is very convenient to walk to Scranton University, which is why we were there), but will also consider other hotels in the area in the future.

We loved the historic history of the hotel and how it was preserved. The homage to Scranton's history with the train industry was magnificent. The hotel was very adult friendly, great restaurants and very nice breakfast nook. While I'm sure a hotel like this does not attract families with children (young, teens or young adults), some less formal options for adults may be more appealing (for example: an indoor pool, an in hotel convenience store with snacks and ice cream, etc). The area around the hotel isn't always safe at night, so going out for these items is not an option.
